In a post-war era when sleeplessness was prevalent, thalidomide was marketed to a world hooked on tranquilizers and sleeping pills. At the time, one out of seven Americans took them regularly. The demand for sedatives was even higher in some European markets, and the presumed safety of thalidomide, the only non-barbiturate sedative known at the time, gave the drug massive appeal.

Later they discovered that birth defects and deformities were caused by that drug.

Now, look at all the pharmaceuticals on the market today. Viagra and other ED treatment drugs are popped like candy. Sleeping pills, anti-depressants, etc. etc. etc. Read all the ATS threads about military experiments, government clinical trials, inoculations and vaccines, then tell me my questions are not valid ones.

Oh it was a fear based hate session from the get go now wasn't it? Be honest...what happened was some more enlightened and compassionate souls showed up to steer it away from the hate and fear towards education on the subject.

What does that have to do with you doubting the very real phenomenon of there being a physiological cause behind this and that it's not just people being "mentally ill".

In this post you exhibit second half of the "offend/act persecuted" model. In this post, you make sense and act like this is why everybody is getting upset with you. But you know better. You know that it's not your concern about fun medical conspiracies that are pissing people off. You know that it's all the stuff you say in between those posts (the first half of "offend/act persecuted" equation).

You can read my entire posting history since I've come out to you guys in February. I have NEVER had a persecution complex and have always had the patience of a saint dealing with some of the dumbest questions (maybe a few exceptions but, considering, I've been pretty damned civil and open). You have witnessed me finally saying that I'm not, nor ever have been, fooled by what some of you are doing.

If you could see me, you would understand that I'm not frothing from the mouth in a rage. I'm more incredulous and flabbergasted... there is definitely a smile of disbelief on my face. I'm not as angry as you think I am.

The OP author is still trying to have honest discussion (more patience than I have), and you people are acting like children, twisting words and replying with churlish proclamations of victory. Nice job convincing the silent reader to take your side...
