I've never actually thought of that. I have heard of human flesh described as long pork. A cannibal named Alfred Packer who lived in the late 1800's and died in the early 1900's said that.

I don't know about Packer, but human meat was known as long pork well beforehand by Polynesians in the South Pacific, by South Americans, and by Africans.
