I understand it quite well.
Chalk up Disney as another that will never see a dime from me.

The company that gave the world Mickey Mouse has evolved from cartoons and theme parks to become the second largest media conglomerate on the planet.

This is not the free market, as you have pointed out. The wealth will move to a country with more incentives. Or vice versa.

Companies move overseas for greater profits because they have their puppets in DC that are working for them as opposed to working for the best interests of all Americans as the Constitution stipulates.

When the economy was overheating as it was put in the 90's, companies were then moving to China for even greater profits.

They moved not because they were not making a profit but because they could make even greater profits.
So, how much profit is enough? If you say there is no limit and profit is the only concern, then the regulations and taxes and so are all a smoke screen to give to a gullible public.

Especially when the Big Multinationals that moved are the very ones that wrote the regulations they passed on to their puppets in order to kill off their competition.

Grab my last check, flip them the bird and walk out the door. But....I'll bet they're not doing it out of the goodness of their heart. They've probably been threatened with Disney screwing with their retirement or have them trapped by a clause in their contract. If I knew they were being trained to take my job, I'd teach them all the wrong stuff and be as uncooperative as possible.

Now, before you add in the Media Sound Bite, that Republicans for Corporations want them for cheap labor and Democrats want them for votes....

I call bull spittle

The Obama Admin is working for the same team.
He was bankrolled by the Big Wall Street Banks
He is all for the Trans Pacific Partnership.

He works for the Corporate Lords just like the other "team"

The fault of Illegal Immigration can be laid squarely on the 1% running this country.

There would not be hoards of illegals storming the borders to begin with if NAFTA had not passed.
It gave Big AG the ability to kill off the family farms in Mexico, the same dam thing they did in this country.

The H-1B program was specifically for bringing in foreigners for jobs they couldn't find Americans to do.

According to the NYT article in the OP there are entire companies dedicated to bringing in H-1B workers to take over jobs that Americans are being being fired from.

I just don't understand how they can get away this but I guess we shouldn't be surprised.

I'm sure this IS specifically what it was designed for. The rest is just the BS to sell it. Like the patriot act was for your security. Or the affordable healthcare act was going to lower insurance premiums.

Obama, the Corporate Puppet was bought by Big Pharma and Big Insurance.

Globalism is causing the average American to take a paycut.
Big Pharma and Big Insurance bloated prices were unsustainable and did not want to take a paycut so they lobbyed their puppets with their consumers money to force all Americans to pitch in to prop them up.

A stealth bailout

I have to admit I am torn on this issue.

On one hand, I work in advertising and have seen close up over and over the impact of mass outsourcing of creative and technical work on people and their families and communities. Rounds and rounds of layoffs, and no one is immune.

In some cases, the RIF-ees have gone back to school and launched different careers and are better off now than ever.

In other cases... well, the stress alone has been hard on minds and bodies and relationships. I know a lot of smart people who are unemployed, underemployed, or working in jobs they hate, just to have a paycheck.

On the other hand... I cant fault the foreign workers at all! They are leaving home for years at a time, living in a foreign country, without family. Lots of Americans seem to feel entitled to a job and a settled life and wouldnt move to a new city or make a long commute for a job it seems.

I think the advantage is always to those who will go where the jobs are, or who will take the jobs that exist where they are instead of the job they would like to have. And I dont think any amount of regulation will change that.

So you are for Globalism or Constitution Based Nationalism where the interests of all American's come first?
If we are not going off the Constitution anymore, then there are a lot of people having their money stolen to prop up military spending.

how is it ignorant (without knowledge) when i have a source (bbc) to back it up?

"A new World Health Organisation (WHO) report says more than half a billion people in India still "continue to defecate in gutters, behind bushes or in open water bodies, with no dignity or privacy"." more than the entire population of the u.s.

You are quite correct sir, your statement was not ignorant, it is racist though. You're basing your entire argument upon whether or not a certain people (culture) relieve themselves properly. What the Fook does how some one uses the toilet have to do with their level of education, or knowledge of IT?

Good day to you.

I guess it might be an idea for Disney to invest in a lot of hand sanitizer and handy wipes. Keyboards have a potential to get kind of groady.

Cheers - Dave

Don't worry,

All we have to do is crash our economy, lower our standard of living , remove all workers rights and then we will be able to compete at slave labor prices with third world wages.

Your congress is on track to make sure those things work in order for the US to compete.

Me thinks their is going to be some serious increase in H1 visas in the near future. Could explain why Walmart is spending 250 Billion dollars over the next 10 years to bring back manufacturing jobs to the US.

Well this contract was signed in 2012 so the change should not have come as a surprise to any of the 250 workers. This has been going on for decades. It has strong support among the in GOP and some in the DNC. In fact Congress is considering expanding it again. Nobody is going to after Disney because they add way more jobs every year to the US than the 250 being cut. The are spending a lot of money expanding several parks that will lead to creating hundreds of new jobs, not to mention the construction jobs. I think you can cut Disney a little slack. I mean everybody else did this almost 20 years ago.

People always say 'we shouldn't be surprised'

But still seem to hang on to the belief that anyone who doesn't have work is a lazy self entitled waste of life.

The irony is thick.

I am not sure what the right -ism label would be.

But I do honestly believe that all people (not just natural-born Americans) are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights.

And I cant ignore the reality that the technology that enables you and I to talk about Globalism from different locations is the same technology that enables a foreign worker to find and apply for jobs here.

And I cant ignore the reality that I am competing with people that are willing to leave their home for work. Life in my locale is not much different from anywhere else in the USA, so we dont have an influx of people from the west coast of the USA coming to work here. But life here is (apparently) better than life in Bangalore... I cant fault people for wanting that for themselves and their kids.

This is true, but it benefits the head honchos at the top as well and screws the citizens of that country.
If they want to spread the wealth and be humanitarians, then they should have some skin in the game and take a paycut.
We'll see what kind of humanitarians they are when they have to have some skin in the game.

One thing you need to know about Indian workers. Most can't even use a drill or screwdriver, they have little or no creativity or ingenuity they think we are miracle workers because we multitask so well when they have no idea of where to start unless it's in a book. Draw a part in a CAD program no problem create one out of their head ??????

Big catch 22 here....and getting worse by the day. We have wide open boarders, everyone knows this, as the percentage of Americans who cannot, will not, work increases, the amount of illegal or legal immigrants increases to take their job. Not a perfect balance here, but let time play out the cards. All the big benefits are almost history and the immigrant probably will not care of that, just wants work. There are perfectly healthy Americans who will not lift a finger with their hand out, And all the way down the spectrum, and there are countries with a billion people looking for a better crap hole and this is it....India, China, etc. most of mexico is already here. Any moron who claims racism should get a clue, non American is just that...matters not where you are from...only that corporate America runs Washington, and at the expense of long term taxpayers that got them their office, they sell you down the river for someone who may despise our country and way of life for an income and better surroundings supported by our own damn reps....

if you cant figure out how to make a seat with a hole in it, something the romans figured out 3000 yrs ago, over a pit to be burned and sanitized, then how can you figure out proper tcp/ip protocols?

Presumably you've managed to find employment, while you seem to have very poor written English skills. So can you not see that a cultural peculiarity has no impact on someones abilities?

If you choose to sleep without a sheet covering you, does that mean you are incapable of learning math?
If you choose to eat with your fingers, does that mean you are incapable of using a phone?
If you choose to use toilet paper rather than a bidet, does that mean you are incapable of being a pilot?

You're judging an entire nation of people and their abilities on one cultural issue, and one that actually stems from poverty rather than choice.
I would call that ignorant, and racist.

There no excuse for axing qualified US workers and replacing them with non-US citizens. It's unamerican, bad for the economy, and bad publicity.

The only thing 'good' is that it brings more profit for the corporation itself.

Next thing you know, these Indians will be fired and replaced by some younger cheaper immigrants.

Edited to add Barf Emojis, but the best I could find where these:

And here i see in every American city i'v been to people deficating in the streets of every major city i have visited. Fek me man this isnt about racism its about how the civilised world looks after its poorest and the USA is pretty # at that given its a socialist country. Free education = socialism, free health care to a small degree = socilaism, free welfare = socilaism need i go on ?
