Firearms are used every day by people to stop a crime from happening. Those people would have been victims if not for the firearm.

If you're talking about aliens and zombies, then yes... those threats don't exist.

What bet? Making up imaginary scenarios again.

I stated a fact and the gun owners got all in arms. Don't blame me, blame your beloved fore fathers. They are the ones who made it so that the 2nd can be amended amongst other changed to the contsitution.

It's intentionally difficult to do, so that emotions don't ruin our founding document.

Amendment II A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

That right there is talking about TWO SEPERATE things.

The militia, and the right of the people SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

Why ?

Both are necessary to the SECURITY OF A FREE STATE.

Amendment IX The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

The 'specification' of certain rights SHALL NOT BE construed(interpreted) to Deny or Disparage other rights retained by the people.

That means limited.

2nd, and 9th CLEARLY spell out the right to keep, and bear arms can not, and should not be messed with.

For obvious reasons.
