I've been hit with a lightning bolt in the air with no effect (apart from elevated heart rates!). So many variables. All lightning bolts aren't created equal. And neither are onboard systems. I've seen an "exit wound" once (basically a small burn/melt of the aircraft's skin -- at the tail in this case). I've also heard horror stories of major system failures.
