Go China. Personally I don't like porn, I just don't like looking at other nude people. To bad Japan can't do this, porn is supposely huge in Japan. If only the US took such a stance on spam.

But other people do like porn, its a question of freedom isn't it.

Thats true, but it makes me wonder. If a person likes porn so much, why not get a girlfriend/boyfriend. I suppose it is a matter of freedom. I think that porn should be avalible, to keep the crazy people busy, but restrict access so that we don't have kids looking at it. Or maybe require a warning that theres porn on that particular website, to aviod mistakes.

I mean fair enough if the general population just don't want it, but if this is being forced on them then it's rediculous. The people viewing or taking part in pornography are all willing participants so there is no harm done, it's a matter of choice regardless of the circumstances.

However where there is a demand there will always be someone selling, so I guess to the black market this shall go...and I have a sneaking suspicion that even those that offer moral indignation on the surface will be demanding such in private.

Oh...I don't think this is an issue of spam but agreed, I wish it would piss off.

Access is restricted by requiring the person to sign up to a monthly contact. I don’t know a lot of kids that hold credit cars (unless of course they went for a little adventure in Mom's purse)

Oh...also I was not aware that this was an issue of cutting back so that people who do not wish to be exposed to pornography do not. In those circumstances of course more should be done to clean up the net so that people don't run into porn no matter where they go (it's very annoying), and to make more efforts to make sure children aren't exposed to it ( although I never had a problem with it when I saw a porn mag in my early years ).

However, to those that do wish to access pornography that freedom should be there, but they should go looking for it...not the other way around.

I have no personal interest in pornography, but am apparently in the minority on the Internet.

Back in my ISP days, long ago, we did an informal analysis of our proxy servers for fun, just to see what was hot and what was not by looking at what sites were visited.

Although porn sites did not constitute a majority of 'Net traffic through our servers, it was far and away the single most popular category by a wide margin.

The reality of the situation is that if people weren't interested in sex, there wouldn't be so damn many of us.

Judging from the population of China, I'm pretty sure this is a battle the government is going to lose, and lose miserably.

Sorry if I'm a little biased against porn viewers but I'm just not really that into porn. I'm sort of in the whole moral mood because of Christmas.

Hmmm, funny how everybody seems to say "not me but........" at any rate given the declining female population and the increasing male population in China, don't you think you had better have an outlet for all of that? Im serious. Females are getting scarce with the population controlls and the first born son mentality.

It also depends on peoples definition of porn and the differing levels of porn. Is the Chinese government culling websites that only contain topless pics?

I dont like to see people naked (A-sexual), but I'm not going to critisize someone for viewing it, I mean for goodness sakes preachers and pastors have viewed porn at least twice in there lives, the only way you could have not viewed any pornographic material and be say 20, is if you lived in a cave blocked off from trhe woeld.

On a serious note I really don't view porn that often, I'm just defending someones right to do so should they desire. Defending it and watching it aren't the same thing.

...and I'm not saying it's the case but out of curiosity I ask...should others have to suffer as a result of your morals?

The Chinese have shut down over a thousand porn sites within their country because they fear the decline of morality in their people it may or may not create.

So what is to stop individuals in China from accessing the hundreds of thousands of porn sites in other parts of the world? Are all Chinese internet service providers under the control of government proxy servers?

I really do think so. Welcome to Communism. There was a member on ATS earlier stationed in somewhere in China. Certain portions of AboveTopSecret.com was blocked however he managed to access the forums.
