I've actually had this happen a couple of times.
Rather than take it to my bank, I take it to Amscot, and let them report it.

That way, never even gets seen by my bank, so no risk of it.

It seems it not care.com itself but people using its resources to scam money.

There is a warning on the website about scam and other behaviour.
