I am having a look through some images to try and recognise it.

The gun was on the front of the ship and it was very long. Google searches keep bringing up news from 2012.

The gun on this ship is massive!

That's why we need a pic. A "massive" gun means what, exactly? There are no more battleships, so this is likely a destroyer of some kind. A cruiser isn't really that much bigger. The current classes of American warships have only small-looking guns because their basic offensive weapon is missiles. Could be somebody else's, of course but without a pic we can't tell much.

Dont Rusdia have a number of old ships from the 60's a d 70's?

I thought they were plowing the med at the moment?

So the OP has discovered that Greece has a navy.
Hellenic Navy
And even more surprising these boats have bug guns.

I am with you, modern Western navies don't really have big guns anymore, probably some third world navy like Russia, they have been on operations in the Med recently.

I passed again on Thursday morning and done my best to get pics

though i was using my phone.

It turned out that the ship i had seen previously was not there but another navy ship was in its place.
(cant get it to upload on the correct side so i am not liable for cricked necks lol. This is the ship that had replaced the original one i seen.

I think...but cannot be sure that this was the original, i zoomed as much as possible.

That's either the HS Evropi or the HS Kallisto it looks like. Both are former UK Hunt class mine countermeasure vessels.

You hit the nail on the head Zaphod!

the original ship was the H.S Hydra & H.S Evropi after your comment I checked against the name and it was the same ships.

I was so busy trying to get the pics as i passed i barely looked at the ship that was now there.
