Oh hell no. That was a great movie. Screw the stars. Donald Sutherland, Gavin McLoud and Don Rickles were amazing.

I think the movie did a solid job of translating Matheson.
Obviously you lose the each chapter title is the last sentence from the previous chapter in a movie but for the most part in told the story he wrote.

Cop Out (2010)



I'm not the biggest fan of Tracy Morgan but I loves me anything Kevin Smith.

Fireproof (2008) with Kirk Cameron.

I can't say I love it enough to watch it every week, but whenever I land on the Christian channel and it happens to be on, I find myself fascinated in a quasi-anthropological sense, and unable to change the channel.

How curious to observe a couple who clearly don't belong together get talked into prolonging their inevitably doomed relationship.
One can only imagine the horror that ensues after the couple get back together at the end.

My favorite scene is where Kirk smashes up his computer (which was in the living room) with a baseball bat to overcome his Internet porn addiction.
Presumably this should please the wife, although she's a doctor and might want to check her emails every now and again.
And poor Kirk, he obviously wasn't getting anything from the wife, and now no Internet ... no wonder he was so frustrated.

Through the entire movie a sore point was his dream to save up for a yacht (I mean, how selfish of him), but he should have rather invested in a man cave.

Not because of Johnny Depp. Just simply because it was a movie that didn't handed the answer of the dilemma on a silver plate, and you had to figure for yourself what you related to.
It was a movie that showcased the wrong, but also the good, of what an Artificial Intelligence could do. Yes, the AI did some things wrong, and that I disagree with, but I also agree with many things it did, only because I would myself do the same to salvage all the damages humanity's done with Earth and itself.

It wasn't an action movie, no big fight scenes: it was a movie to prompt thoughts and discussion. And I loved it for that exactly. Too few movies are that thought-provoking.

You've sold it to me and I've just downloaded it for another day. I like futuristic, existential sci-fi and recently watched Ex Machina (great movie btw) so Transcendence sounds good. Great cast too...dunno how I missed this.

Oh, and watch out for the ending. I watched it with a friend, and that guy never cries at sad endings... and he did. ALOT! And myself I did, for almost 20 minutes.

Good one. I thought I'd hate it as I really don't care about Courtney Love. I didn't even know she had tried to be a actress let alone actually do it. She pulled it off and the flick was worth watching more than once although maybe not many more times than that.

Turned out to be pretty cool and some spots are classic. Good cast of names that actually come through and the cameo at the end is priceless. So worth it. I loved also, but this was the point, that no one ended up where they thought they would.

One I ended up watching twice in the same week, is called "Frank" with Maggie Gyllenhaal?
I have no idea what critics thought, no one I talk to about it has ever seen it.
I am not sure exactly what touched me in that (the reason I watched it twice).
But I liked it.

Speaking of Maggie Gyllenhaal, one of my favorites is "The Secretary"!


Saw a film last night that was worth seeing, "The Babadook".

Wasn't that Tom Cruise and the hero and Tim Curry as the devil? Thee was a unicorn and oh, Tia Maria?

Yep, but "Mia Sara" is who you are thinking of. (also played Ferris' girlfriend Sloan in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Harley Quinn on a short-lived show about Batman and Catwoman's daughter, that I can't remember the name of....Huntress maybe?)
