My pet peeve is the use of 'irregardless', which is not a word at all. Regardless says enough.

Agreed and just for info in French regardless is translated néanmoins.

Been here 27 years now and married to a French lady.

Anyways... enough about me... Irregardless will probably end up one day in one of our dictionaries!

Here's one that aggravates me: exponential. People have no idea how to use the word.

It is clear in the derivative of the word itself that it has an "exponent". Yes?

For example, " Reported crime rates rise exponentially with rises in temperature".

You don't just say "Crime rises exponentially".

Exponential to WHAT? There should be an exponent.
