I didn't want to include the variance issue, since most are not up to speed to that info.

But, for the most part, an FFL/SOT can house/store firearm offsite, so long technically as they are indicated in the log book. Most of the time the space needs to be in the control of the FFL/SOT holder.


As for the transfer of machine guns, what I was told was so long as the company doing the work holds an SOT, they can accept it, perform the work and return it. That being anything outside of serializing a firearm.

or....the Feds were just enforcing the law, but of course that couldn't be it, because that doesn't generate the fear needed, for gun owners and the NRA against our government.

So how do you get the serial on the part before it's finished? Otherwise EVERY part is created with no serial, and thus in your mind illegal.
