I'd rather have him than Jeb or Hillary that's for sure, and I hope most people would too.

Even if he ended up being a complete sellout wouldn't you have rather taken your chance with him rather than the other boatloads of corrupt politicians? Marc Rubio, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, c'mon you know these guys are sellouts already.

If he really would plan that, I wouldn't count on him being elected. Too many with power want that surveillance, and all it brings them. I can almost picture a computer posting him as a threat as I post this. Ever watch Person of Interest?

That is the best statement I have read this entire thread!

Bravo blunt and eloquent!

Honestly I'd say this is the first time in quite a while, that someone like him does actually stand's a chance though.

These days, I am not sure anyone does, that wasn't pre-picked. If the votes count? Sure, he could stand a good chance. That's a big "if". though. I don't dislike him. Not sure I would pick him, but he's got some good points. Guess we'll see!

No one would consider him if it wasn't for who he is related to. He is not his father and I don't believe him. He abandoned his father and I can't respect him for that.

Some will say he did it to play the game, but I don't want someone who plays games. I want someone who sticks to their gns and shows some loyalty. That may be a pipe dream for candidates, but I can't imagine ever voting for someone who did what he did when he turned on his pops. That IMO is unforgivable.

Your vision is delusional. If rand ran the way you want him to, there would be no way hed get elected. Instead of having a childish viewpoint, look at the things he's said and done over his career. His father supports him, and if you respect his father so much, you'd take him at his word when he says rand would make a great president.

Rand's playing the game because he had to, everyone does. He seems like he wants to make a difference, and if he did everything to make people like you happy hed be at home during the election. You should really look back at history, a president by the name of Ronald Reagan went through a similar situation to finally get elected.

You can play it smart and have a realistic shot, or stick to your "guns" and be a continual loser. I'm glad he's playing it smart, he has a real shot

Last time, Obama promised many things.

One of them was that he'd take everyone (our troops) out of Afghanistan and bring em back home. Instead he took people from home and brought them over to Afghanistan.

If Rand Paul is still in the race when the Primaries come to my state, I'm definitely voting for him.

Rand Paul 2016

So far, only Paul, Sanders and Johnson have stated that they would get rid of the Patriot Act.

Sanders is a socialist.
Johnson a libertarian.
And Paul a republican, who flip-flops on issues like drones and the Fed.

I think we're pretty much screwed.

Still all three are miles better than another clinton or worse a Bush.

I wouldn't. I can find Yemen, with a well-marked atlas, but I will tell you I have no idea who the leader of the country is. That might be a difference between me and Sarah. I am well educated. But I know my limitations. I cannot be the President. lol

Haha

That still makes a billion times more qualified than than the last Bush you had in office

Would he never lie to get elected?

Sure, almost every person--probably including you--would lie to appease the masses to get elected to an office for which you are spending millions of dollars to secure.

The difference, at least on this issue, is that this has been his stance all along, even when it was one of the least-popular stances to have in Washington. This is one of the good things that he has carried over from his father.

Yeah, you're right. I should just give up and vote Democrat for the rest of my life. At least we know they want us all to live in poverty slinging mud and eating government mush.

The other way, I would only continue to break myself on the hope that things might change.

You know like when all the Democrats voted for that Hope and Change guy.

Ya that is totally what I said!

How could you possibly got all of that from me just asking why we need to believe his promises?

The lies by barry and every president before him should have anyone asking the same question.

We all know the game, lie on the campaign trial and then back track in office.

So can you tell me why Rand would be any different?

Or should I just vote Republican cause he is making some good promises, which would be to be Emperor Paul and use E.O's to get what he wants.
Because that is what you are when you use E.O's right? Or is it only when barry does it.

Can you tell me specifically why he wouldn't? Or do you always lump every person together in your opinions and rate them with a blanket?

Oh and despite answering your questions as requested. You still haven't answered my question?

Are you going to vote?

And if I could speak with Rand Paul...I would answer his promise for that executive order with this. "Great...then please sign this binding contract that if you don't execute that order on your first day in office, you will be required to relinquish your position as President immediately."

Then...hold him to it. As we should with every elected official just like we do with employees. If you don't perform as you have stated and promised as you would...you will be fired. Problem solved! When a candidate begins campaigning...start building the list of contractual items. If elected, they can't take office until they sign the contract and legally agree to execute the promises they made. And if they don't...they are removed from office immediately.

Why not? That is a given for every employee in our country. Perform and follow the rules or you are fired.
