Oh dear, that is a pity. Never had to do that to the only two cats who have crossed my path in life, both females, both already 'done' by somebody else, both turned up at my home saying 'hiya, can I chill with you?'.
My Bro's Frank didn't get done, lived a long life doing his male cat thing, and only spraying on the garden fence.
I think he knew if he did that indoors then he would have been castrated soon as at the vets, so he complied.
....proper hard as nails though, dogs would back off, I really liked him.
