Prior to the Ayatollah deposing the Shah, Israel/Iran relations were quite good. They were trading partners and allies. When Khomeini took power, one of his first acts was to sever ties with Israel, declaring them "an enemy of Islam", and starting his little "Death to Israel" tantrums.

Yes they threw them out because thanks to the American puppet in charge Israel did as they pleased in Iran. Also how nice of you to overlook that Israel has done nothing but cry attack Iran after they were thrown out.

Your blame is placed on the wrong party here, 'Trep. On one side you have a country using cowboy diplomacy to the advancement and protection of their own nation and on the other you have a country ruled by a religious zealot trying to apply nonsecular rational to calls for violence.

Doing nothing but making demands is in no way diplomatic. It's funny how you call the people running Iran religious zealots when Israel is run by people that think they have the right to steal other peoples land because God supposedly gave it to them thousands of years ago.

What special situation exists that the cycle of lunatics running Iran from behind the scenes deserve deference over a nation that essentially operates under the same guidelines as the rest of the West?

To even think that Israel operates under the same guidelines as the rest of the west is laughable. Seeing how Israel is one of the worlds leaders when it comes to war crimes and crimes against humanity clearly shows they do not operate under the same guidelines as the west.

If something like this were to happen, and it brings peace to the region? What's so wrong about it??

The U.S. has stabbed Israel in the back many many times so why should they be so trusting? If America backed Israel 100 percent and had not screwed them over for Egypt among others, especially now they would be the first ones coming to our assistance anytime anyplace. If some Russian ships starts shooting at a U.S. ship in the med and calls out for help.,,how long do you think it will take Israeli warplanes to sink that Russian ship if no other planes can get there before them? You can bet your last penny they will put that Russian ship into the atmosphere or on the bottom in pieces in a hurry because one, they know we will hit Russia back hard anyway and two Russia wont know who sunk their ship, because the ISAF is just real dam good like that.

Military alliances run deep, a lot deeper than political ones. Israel is one of our only true friends in the area that we can count on 100 percent, well maybe not so much now with jackass screwing them over but for the most part they will be there when we need them.

This wouldn't happen to be the Egypt that America pays 1.5 billion protection money to so the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt will stay in force. And the cowards in Israel has never came to our aid.

I don't know what world you live in but it sure isn't this one because you haven't said anything that is close to being true. There are only two things we can count on from Israel.
1. Beg America for more money and more weapons.
2. Try to get America to do their fighting for them because the last time the faced Hezbollah back in 06 they got their asses kicked so now they are gun-shy about fighting a nation with a real military.
Israel has been nothing but a burden on America and it's time we dropped them like a bad habit.
