Read your post I quoted and then tell me you're not being unreasonable.
If you don't think you are then you're a lost cause.

It wouldn't have been a probably, there would have been no survival in either case!

naw man I just happen to be extreme, and yet am willing to compromise as I already stated. Whats unreasonable is for a school board to ignore the wishes of overwhelming majority of the taxpayers who fund them. I am ready to compromise. If I gotta give then so does the other party though.

It is your opinion that this nation is depraved and degrading which set them off. You have never answered their questions.

What amazes me is how you as well can not comprehend the fact that the follow up question was a spider web that was weaved in order to trap me, yet unfortunately it did not work out.

Here let me help you out a little bit. Go back and read my original post, and then read the weak minded attempt of another to put words into my mouth. I said that we all live in a very, very sick society, and I stand by that.

Do you have anything to offer to the discussion other than repeating what we all already know? ~$heopleNation

Right. Shameful stuff. String 'em up.

From the OP, less the nonsense.

The plan calls for teaching seventh graders about transgenderism and tenth graders about the concept that sexuality is a broader spectrum

“Students will be provided definitions for sexual orientation terms heterosexuality, homosexuality and bisexuality; and the gender identity term transgender,” the district’s recommendations state. “Emphasis will be placed on recognizing that everyone is experiencing changes and the role of respectful, inclusive language in promoting an environment free of bias and discrimination.”

I presume you mean me.

You jabbered about the fall of the Roman Empire, "disease and moral decay", and the news.

If I was putting words in your mouth I guess I was mistaken in thinking that you think homosexual love is not depraved. My apologies for getting it wrong.

My only issue is with the the parts I bolded. teaching seventh graders anything about transgender is an abomination and insult to proper education. The only reason it is even being done is because nobody in the country is willing to accept the consequences of their behavior, and a mental illness that demands the expense of alot of resources and the mutilation of the natural body to appease a confused sense of self. Forgive my offensiveness or not. I am within my right to state my position.

Children can wait until they are closer to adulthood for that kind of exposure to corrupted logic.

What's it to you?

As I am within mine to state mine, that you are unhealthily concerned with something which has no impact on you.

Yeah. They can wait until they are closer to adulthood to learn about your religion of choice, too.

I mentioned why several times now, see this is that loop I talked about that just keeps going in circles. It is unhealthy and immoral to add another layer of confusion to hormonal and very impressionable children, many who may not be getting the attention they deserve at home and may decide nothing gets attention like the topic at hand.

It concerns me because a precedent set in one state can clearly be used to ram similar policy changes in another. Although I think we should be safe here in Florida as long as we can keep our representatives and governors Red.

So, a kid that doesn't feel right in his body is not confused by that but if he's told that there are others like him he will be? So telling other kids that there is really nothing particularly bad about different sexualities and that hassling them about it is bad is bad?

I was referring to your concern about the sexuality of others.

If the child does not feel right in his or her body, then the first step would be to seek professional help for psychological issues and not throwing fuel on the fire by saying "go ahead, defy nature and just go with the flow" . If that individual is already in high school then I dont really see any point in fighting it anymore.

But seventh graders are typically 11-13 years old. Those can be more troublesome years than teenager when it comes to identity and finding ones place in the world. In school though, the topic should be academic performance and not sexual choices of their own or others. That can wait to high school.

Hmm. You've attended one of the classes? You know that's what they are told? You think a psychologist could "fix" him? Make him normal?

Yup leave it up to the parents. The ones that tell them transexuals are demons. That's really good, especially if it turns out your kid is a transexual. Nah, that would never happen.

Thank you for respecting my opinion.
The feeling is not mutual. Not when it involves such deep prejudices.

Couldn't that burden be due do the constraints of being forced by society to choose? That the problem is in not knowing how they can fit even though society says they must be "something" and (in most cases) that if you are the wrong "something" there is something wrong with you?

I have no interest in maintaining the status quo, I don't consider them wrong, and don't care for anything they would have to "choose" to be. I'm not that person. I'd never make any of those arguments. I said earlier that I accept people having any identity they want on a personal level. They would be welcome around me, as long as I didn't have to walk around on egg shells to avoid breaking them. I'm too clumsy with egg shells.

I'm on the side of transgendered people. I'm just not a fan of this approach to social engineering (even if it's hypothetical now). When it's in my own favor, I oppose it on ethics. This level of identity needs to be developed more organically, but I'll accept what ever they choose to be if they aren't soft fascists about it.

If I was more confident in our school systems ability to handle the discussion, I would be less concerned. Unfortunately, I've read how the newest wave of gender minded people think. I know who is going to lead the field, and I don't trust them to handle the development of children reasonably. The current popular approach feels unhealthy to me. When I put myself in their shoes, I feel miserable.

It's one of the few fields where I entertain the possibility of being over educated. Everyday they wake up looking for a new stone to flip over, like an injustice treasure hunt. The mainstream opinion has an obsessive negative bias against straight white males, and they have every tool needed to build a victim complex. They are also immature about some of the more unavoidable parts of biology. The motives trouble me, I don't think they come from the best place emotionally, and they shouldn't influence children in mass.

Black or white. Right or wrong. Male or female. That's simple. Nice little world you have there.

You wish I was black or white.

My idea of simplification is more Zen like than redneck trucker. I'm anti-introducing unneeded commotion. Restless people have done enough to destabilize society. They should avoid sentencing children to the same fate. Create a place where people troubled by there gender can explore that, but don't stimulate everyone to become troubled by their gender universally. I'm perfectly fine with people who just consider themselves boys or girls 100%. I see no reason not to be.
