Wait a second. This has nothing to do with some "progressive socialist agenda". The numbered points you linked are from "The Naked Communist," by a guy named Cleon Skousen, as your link says.

At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen.

Skousen is an ex-FBI agent, was anti-communist and was a conservative. He was in the FBI during Hoover's fight against communism, and that book was published 2 years after the McCarthyism crap, to give a better context for it. In other words, you listed a former government official's anti-communist propaganda as a way to prove your point.

And here's a better link to what's actually going on in Fairfax County:
www.washingtontimes.com...

It's nowhere near as sensational as the OP or the Fox article make it appear. Why do people keep falling for the same knee jerk fear-mongering?

As if Common Core wasn't bad enough. I honestly can't believe this garbage.

I'm glad the parents are freaking out, I hope they can get something done about this brainwashing nonsense.

Schools should stick to reading, writing, and Arithmetic, so to speak....Social Engineering, and brainwashing government - approved - value -sytems is going way too far.

Do you remember being a kid, sitting around a campfire, being told ghost stories? You know your friend's strange uncle was making them up but you held the suspension of disbelief long enough to give yourself a real scare. Because it was fun.

Well... we don't really grow out of it. Most of us acknowledge it and watch zombie flicks. Others like to pretend they grew out of it but will buy stories like this because challenging outdated beliefs is something that still scares them. Same concept as "doom porn" but it has that added perk of defending their learned morality and feigning righteous indignation.

If it weren't for diversity, some of these people who write articles like this would eat themselves from boredom and play Bloody Mary in the bathroom all day.

Well said. When you put it that way, I can't really dispute it.

I figure that another part of it is also sheer boredom. Like some people are so bored with their normal lives that they have to find some way to get stimulation. While others feel the need to make other people panicky & scared in order to manipulate them. But your explanation fits, as well.

Why do people get so mad about it? Why do they feel so upset or whatever? It bums me out a bit. I was born a guy and remain a guy and I'm into girls.

And I couldn't imagine in my life just randomly making a decision that I was going to feel like a different gender or be attracted to a different gender. I think most straight people would agree!

So to me, that about settles it. People who are homosexual, transexual, whatever other kind of sexual. They are just like that and that is who they are and that is what they want. And I highly doubt that they started out as this "normal straight" and one day said "know what? I think I'll try hairy buttholes now" and became gay. Or whatever other thing. It'

It's just different people being different. Just like there's short people and tall people, and just about everyone is either short or is tall, but some people are in between and some people are wayyyy to one end or the other, but everyone falls onto the scale somewhere.

Idk. The one thing I know for sure is that if I hit up a bar and make a run at a girl...... No gay guy, or trans anything, has ever stopped me. Not even once.

What's the issue guys?

Yep... seems to me that this 'agenda' which is being pushed, is REALLY being pushed and not onto Adults either but onto children who i might add are already being pressured enough.

I think this stuff needs to be discussed at home, if the child has problems, it's the Parents role to sort it out and NO, all that in No.26 is NOT normal!! People keep trying to say that it is and that the 'Normal' people of Society are Wrong.... well, I've got news for them.... THEY (Those people) are wrong.

To say that there is 'no such thing as boys & girls' is frankly dumb.
But to say there is only boys & girls is equally as dumb.
There IS a gray area and there kinda is a scale.
I think allowing kids to understand this, if they're already reaching them sex-ed, is a good thing.

Let me ask this question, of those who see negative connotations to educating children not to be homophobic or transphobic, teaching them about gender issues so that they do not FEAR the people who are different from them, because they understand a little about their situation.

It is legal to change ones outward appearance, in order to better fit ones internal understanding of ones gender. It is legal to be homosexual, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered. Not only is it legal, but it is illegal to stifle a persons right to express their gender or sexuality as they see fit, within limits set by the law of course. Given that, is it not reasonable to educate people early, so that they are less likely to come afoul of the legal ramifications of being denied that understanding? After all, those who are not understood, are often feared, and it is fear which results in hate crimes, and nothing more. Is it not wise to ensure that children are made aware that they do not have the right to judge people who choose a different path to the one that has been trod by their parents?

Does it not make sense to ensure that society as a whole does not alienate people who are committing no crime, by informing young people that persons who happen to live alternative lifestyles have every right to do so, unhindered by the ignorance of others?

I have a friend who is going through the transition from male, to female. She, yes SHE, is often around at our place on a Sunday, is very good friends with my sister, and my brother in law, and so on. My son also visits on Sundays. He has been bought up by his mother, in a very church centered household. He made, upon meeting my friend, some ill advised comments which I had to take him to task about, and it appears that I have some significant work to do, to undo all the uncharitable and un-Christian ethics that have been taught to him, as are taught by next to all organised religious groups to their followers.

For example, it is not appropriate to call someone a he/she, and furthermore, it is not acceptable to use the term "gay" as an insult, or to suggest that something is less than ideal. If I allow him to continue to utter as he has been known to, and do not step in before he gets set in his ways, he will spend the rest of his life making these comments, and appear to others to be a bigot. Now, my son is actually a really beautiful soul, and I do not think that he has been made aware that using terminology as he does, attaching negative connotations to gender and sexuality descriptors for example, is not ethically or morally advisable, and furthermore is bloody rude.

He will be educated such.

I realise that I live in Britain, and so this specific Fairfax issue will not affect the education of my child one bit. But the thing I find so disturbing about this is not the content of the proposed lesson plan, but the reaction to it. Anyone would think, based on the reaction, that these children were going to be taught how to slit throats, throw up gang signs, and become dope mules, all of which would be worse than being taught how to be respectful of the right of others, to choose themselves a path they consider worth walking, and to go about their business unmolested by the unwelcome comments and discrimination, with which they might previously have suffered.

While I empathise entirely with the desire to protect ones children from harm, I think it is important to realise what does, and what does not constitute harm. In my view, it will be more harmful for my child to grow up thinking that using inappropriate terminology is totally acceptable, and then be shocked when he is considered an oaf and a bigot by his peers later on, than it ever would be for him to learn about the subtle nuances of both the human biology and the human mind.

The reality is that law makers and public opinion in the main, in the developed western world, have by and large accepted that being homosexual, bisexual, or of alternative gender persuasion is allowable under the law, and that persons who subscribe to those lifestyles, or states of being, are within their rights to live their lives that way just as we heterosexual persons are within our rights to live the way we do. Either the various alternatives to heterosexuality need to be accepted properly by people, which would mean that education was paramount and welcomed by all, or the issue as a whole needs revisiting. Personally, I am of the understanding that the more information young people have, which prevents them forming outmoded attitudes toward those who are different from themselves, the better for them, and the better for society as a whole.

Ok first off. I don't see why this is such a big deal. I think this is a good way of presenting the subject of sexual orientation and Transgenderism to children so that there will be less ignorant people in the future preaching about how these things are wrong or "degenerate" because of a lack of understanding.

Secondly i i feel like this schooling system is doing the right thing by stepping in and teaching kids and teens about a subject that parents won't touch with a fifty foot pole.

The whole thing is about helping kids understand that this is in fact natural and by promoting this understanding at a young age then there will be less miss understanding and less bullying.

This does go well beyond socialism. What we have hear is part of an effort to corrupt the whole earth. Very evil at the heart of it beyond comprehension. But who needs to comprehend the full measure of it all at this point, with outcroppings of evidence like this.

The rise of the Beast. "I saw a beast rise up out of the sea" ect.

Really?

Some people around here would not know what a socialism was, if it jumped up and happy slapped them in the nipples for three days, while singing the National Anthem of Luxembourg.

Seriously, that nonsense is getting really, VERY old now, and its about time it stopped. The sort of mindset which genuinely believes that there is any sort of socialist process at work in the US, comes from the same warped school of thought as those who believe that the UK is a socialism. I can safely say that there is no actual socialism here what so ever, and we would be a damned sight better off if there were!

This "battle" if you want to look at it was lost 35 years ago, if not more.

Traditional views have been rendered extinct. Actually, if your over the age of 35, it doesn't really matter. The future isn't in your care, its in the care of and designed by those who indoctrinate the youth. The rest of us are just along for the ride. But the good news is, we won't be around to see the results. We all have an expiration date.

Well if it were simply a matter of informing that there are some natural anomalies in the mix ect.....well that would be one thing and another discussion.

But trying to teach children that they may be say 00/00% one way of another, pick your own figure, and thus no real 100% anything in gender is the product of a mad mind, off the rail, who knows what the fu*k. The product of confused and corrupted minds at the control center.

Don't even buy into the idea that this is to promote understanding of differences. All this justification you mention has simply been preliminary ground breaking for the real goal. And that goal is not making an understanding and tolerant world but to corrupt the rest, raise a generation of misinformed and screwed up. These folks are witch doctors.

It may be true. But there are so many doing home schooling at least during the early years so that the nuts cant warp their child's mind early while its a blank page. So many doing home schooling.

Folks understand and respect not only the responsibility they have as parents but also the power of the system to corrupt.

Socialists and libtards and heathens, oh my !

Apparently, indocrinated intolerance is still alive and well in the 21st century.

It must be pretty crappy going through life carrying the weight of all that judgemental hatred towards others...

You poor souls have my sympathies.

Exactly. Intolerance has always been indoctrinated into us just as much as tolerance has. Which is the preferable indoctrination? The one that shuts people out for being different, or the one that doesn't? I know which one I prefer.

Oh common Sponge this is stupid. Its not enough to simply teach kids about tolerating anomalies? Got to teaching them that they to, all are not fully 100% any gender? Its stark raving stupidity! Its not even demonstrable. Sounds like something the Joint Chiefs of Perversion and Warped Minds has pulled out of their azz.
