Russians or europeans are working in laser nuclear fusion reactor???

laser fusion reactors are been researching by the americans by the proyects Shiva, Nova, and now by Omega (UV laser), i dont know if that investigation was succeful, (its seens that the rusian tokamak work better), but i dont know if the EU or the ruskies are working in lasers (i heard an rumor of an gamma reactor???, please can anyone help me with more information???
