Going into the head of Apollo is not at all what I thought.

So remarkably familiar in fact.

"Say isn't that my old school?"

"These are but shadows of the things that have been," said
the Ghost. "They have no consciousness of us."

The jocund travellers came on; and as they came, Scrooge
knew and named them every one. Why was he rejoiced beyond
all bounds to see them! Why did his cold eye glisten, and
his heart leap up as they went past! Why was he filled
with gladness when he heard them give each other Merry
Christmas, as they parted at cross-roads and bye-ways, for
their several homes! What was merry Christmas to Scrooge?
Out upon merry Christmas! What good had it ever done
to him?

"The school is not quite deserted," said the Ghost. "A
solitary child, neglected by his friends, is left there still."

Scrooge said he knew it. And he sobbed.

The Wounded Healer archetype is interwoven, naturally, into Jesus and certainly for the Greek audience of the New Testament that was implicitly seen as a path of learning and development that they would have recognised.

That wounded healer can go all the way back to Prometheus(forethought). He brought the fire to man first. Plus he tricked Zeus into leaving the nourishing parts of animals for human consumption. Prometheus endures eternal torment. The concept of a Prometheus can crop up almost anywhere even without a cultural connection to peoples already having one.
There are very many Christ elements there, "by his eternal forethought, he came to ...", the gifts to mankind, the eternal torment.

There are conflicting accounts about the release of Prometheus, perhaps a cultural dispute between Heracles cult and Chiron cult. I fall into the Chiron camp because once again, the concept of being pre-Olympian enough to have been the tutor for the young goddess and god. Some may say that Artemis taught Chiron to shoot, but perhaps Chiron taught Artemis.

When it comes down to it, Chiron relinquishes his right to a place in Olympus in favor of Prometheus. Chiron ends up elevated so far above that only astrologers can guess things about him. The Christ concept of giving place has been forgotten mostly. It may survive in John the Baptist.

I can't think of anything else relevant. That's about all I've got. Maybe you can help Kantz find the connection with Sumerian civilization. I can't keep the who's who straight. And I don't know astrology.

The Semetic scholar of Sumerian philology, John M. Allegro, of Dead Sea Scroll fame, might ire them further for his research revealed that Jesus/Joshua in its Greek form means ‘the semen that heals or fructifies,’ the god’s juice that gives life. When a Christian devotees were smeared with this powerful liquid they absorbed it into their bodies and were brought into living communion with God and felt divine. The practice of drinking divine juices aided the devotee in his desired "direct access to God." Men and women collected in their hands the mixed love juices of their union, symbolically offer them to their deity, and then proceed to drink and celebrate the Eucharist with their own semen declaring it to be "The Body of Christ."

Enki (Babylonian: Ea) lord of the abyss, semen & wisdom; god of water, creation, fertility. In ancient Sumer, the word "abzu" meant both semen and water, where the chief deity Enki was eternally venerated by drinking semen. A stanza from "The Courtship of Inanna and Dumuzi" [Sumerian poetry, 3000 BCE] reads, "Make your milk sweet and thick, my bridegroom; my shepherd, I will drink your fresh milk. Wild bull, Dumuzi, make your milk sweet and thick. I will drink your fresh milk."

Should you read Bacon, i don't know, there is every indication he was concerned with the establishment of the invisible college as ministers of Apollo, but there were always other interest groups taking that in strange directions and the world along with it.

The English as i mentioned seem to have been the first to establish a symbolic association of Parnassus at Cambridge in 1597 but the interest originated in Italy, Raphael painted Apollo and his muses on Parnassus in the Vatican 1510, probably derivative of this delightful painting by Andrea Mantegna 1497

The Nine Muses are Dancing. Apollo plays with his Lyre, Hermes identified by the Caduceus and his wings with the Pegasus horse. The dance is observed by Ares amd Aphrodite (Mars and Venus). The husband of Aphrodite, Hephaistos seen in a cave

Interesting that there the throne of Ares and Aphrodite is draped with the tricolor as it were.

Somebody sure went to an awful lot of trouble to prove a point on that blog page. I don't mean to disparage at all. It's just that religious sacraments, no matter how fun and exciting have their limitations.

--------------
...by the time of climax, we were both panting,
our sweat was mingling together
just as were our juices.

She looked me in the eye and asked,
"Well, how was that?"

"That was fun." I replied.

Her face turned mean, eyes squinted.
"Fun?"
She shoved me away.
Her voice rose, "Fun?"
Louder still, "Fun!!?? that's all you have to say?"

"Yes," I replied, "Fun."

"Oh, just get out of here." she demanded.
----------------
But seriously, now. I know a guy who has a religion like that. He's not too bright. He's not too wise. He's not so awesome to be around frankly. I fail to see how one religion's empty sacrament is of any more value than another's.

But Jesus meaning seed, I can see that. The mixing of salty with fresh water as the Abzu, seems quite significant.

Salt water kills most plants that are trying to grow. Fresh water rain is more appropriate.

Thank you. I was just giving my first impressions. I'll read the link more in depth a bit later.

More than a couple of country's flags use those colors. hmm.

The water is the transformation property, literally, the universal solution (solvent). It falls as rain bearing the fruit of the sky, it enters through crevises into the rocks, mixing Her salts with His fruits to be distributed both above and below the land, the waters that stay longest underground gain the greatest healing, and transformative, powers, by accumulation of minerals, particularly if those waters interact with hydrothermal zones, like Kantzveldt's Ribble, that is also why it's (yonic) opening to the sea (it has a tidal bore, which made it even more revered in the Ancient world for it's provision of diversity and abundance, it was viewed as both consort to the Sky and the Sea), is now highly vulnerable to the threat of fracking.

I wonder sometimes why tidal bores aren't focused on more. The river levels rise and fall according to snow melt and rain from hundreds of miles away. The tides are predictable. The bore would be the meeting and penetration.

Do you know if astrological measurements were used to predict these events?

Prior to stratified societies there was no need to accrue surplus because there was no specialism and responsibilities were shared, not controlled. There is always edible food to be found, one simply has to be flexible, know how to find it and sometimes, how to prepare it to make it digestible. They imagined their heavens divided by spokes on a wheel, a spinning wheel at first, later a cart and their stories filled the gaps between the spokes, and with those they measured the passage of time. Their cosmology was the bardic/oracular model, as at Eleusis, adapted to their own specific environment.

I don't know the methods that they specifically applied to tidal bores, and by the time the Romans arrived they had moved to a Lunar-Solar calendar which naturally introduced a different socio-religious class system and more specialised roles. Prior to that, they were observers within nature, sensitive to the changes around them. The birds would have told them, by their arrival, that the high bore was imminent. They didn't need to plan further ahead than that because they knew that nature would provide when it was ready. That is in Northern England though, in China they have the mightiest of the dragons, consumers of men...

...but it's roar gives ample warning, it sends the birds into flight, so a benevolent dragon, whose cleavage through fresh waters creates the extensive, and fragile salt marshes which offered our predecessors some of their happiest hunting grounds. Alongside other wetland habitats, in the UK and worldwide, these types of ecosystems are endangered, but are vital to healthy hydrological systems and land stability.

The observed rising of the star Sirius used to be used to predict the inundation of the Nile in Ancient Egypt

Those were the Mysteries of Osiris, which correlates with the Babylonian Marduk and the Greek Orphic. It was effectively a transposition of the Eleusis mythology onto the heavens to create a system for longer term planning, and eventually of public spectacle, it also led to a centralisation of knowledge that had not been previously required. In the Eleusis everyone had direct experience of the power of creation and understood their place within it, there was no confusion, and no need for an intermediary to intercede or speak on their behalf. Under the Lunar Solar calender, Marduk claimed to quash the chaos of the creative forces and "restore" order, unfortunately, the precession of the equinoxes are not the primary movers and shakers in our world, their predecessors knew better, the clearest and most present danger is always from within.

Sirius, was central to the Nile environment, but elsewhere it was of little import, the flooding of the Nile is very far removed from the rains that cause it, no where else does it herald the flood, which demonstrates how, originally, the Marduk calendar was tailored to each ecosystem. To seafarers, the dog star was the Pole Star, or Cynosure, or dog's tail. The Cynics emerged as a doomsday cult who believed that all hell would break loose when the tail moved from pole position, a belief shared with some Slavic people, who say that the Triple Zorya kept a dog tied on an iron chain to the Little Bear and that when it breaks the world will end and for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the sons and daughters of the Bitch, the Moon was all that was ever needed to guide us in most things.

I expect, all things considered, that that was why it remained a necessity to have at least some female representation in ritual even after faith in the powers of the Moon had receded, even if they neutered understanding of the basis of that faith.

Thank you for your insightful post

I do believe that the measuring of the movement of the heavens ... was perfected in a prior world wide civilisation ...
That is if perfected is the right word ... as the movement of the heavens is not fixed by mathematics or geometry.
It has a "Mind of it's own" so to speak ... and though not erratic it is variable.

The current Pole/North Star being Polaris will not always be the pole star ... In past times before recorded history that position would have been taken up by Vega or other stars within the circle the Earth's axis points at.

The precession of the equinox's is but one cycle ... like a small cog connected by larger cogs in the big machinery of the Universe ... Nothing is fixed in that way

Likewise

I agree with you, to some extent, particularly with the tentative use of "perfected", but the evidence suggests that it isn't doing whatever it is that it was supposed to do, or that we are not interacting with it in the way that we are supposed to, or some other unknown or hidden factor. We don't know what the designers intended, we do not know what part we play in that system. We do know, or rather we can again know, what goes on in this system, the one that directly sustains us and, most importantly, does a bloody good job of protecting us from "out there", I think we can stop troubling ourselves for a while and focus on what is really important, like the air that we breathe.

I agree it is more important to focus on the Earth than the stars ... This is where we all are at present and yet Humanity is destroying it's own natural habitat ... Humanity is disconnected from reality in this way

Now I am fairly ignorant when it comes to the mythological
systems you are using here... these later ones where
Patriarchy has destroyed the trinity and corrupted
200,000 years of a more nurturing common human
mythology has never interested me overly.

(I prefer studying the mythology which is pre-rape
of Isis).

As you have intimated, it is quite absurd that the
rulers of the current age 'attempt to fix the world'
when it is they (the patriarchy) who have
destroyed it.

The only solution would be a return to equanimity
and a restoration of the trinity of mother, son
and father (in that order) as for hundreds of
thousands of years the father did not even know
he had a role in the trinity (as the power of the
male seed was an initiatory secret of the highest
order).

And of course the father will never give up his
stolen and corrupted power until the entire
world is destroyed, and then he will go
running to the mother to fix things.

(but then it will be too late)

and thus the cycle will continue
endlessly.
