Lets just hope they havn't figured out a way to shut down the power grid,or overheat nuke reactors..
If that happens, the US would be destroyed without them firing a single shot.
A week or two after the lights go out,the US would have torn itself apart from within.

Hopefully they don't have the knowhow on how to do that.

Agreed. There seems to be a great deal of bravado on here that we're dealing with a technologically weak opponent, and most likely a correct assumption. But if they are assisted by an interested party who would like to see us squirm, say China or Russia, that's when it could get ugly.

That MAY have been a possibility if ISIS didn't literally declare war on everyone BUT them. They have no allies.

But the speculation over the next three hours will be entertaining.

No thanks… umm, the number of threads will reflect how "official" the BS.

But have fun, I'm done.

I'm going to bet on a #ty DDOS attack. That's why they've given the "2pm" timing.

I'm all up for being, "shocked" & "frightened" - but I bet I will be neither.

So they are going to go into chat rooms and boot people out?

Maybe they are going to post on peoples face books that are left open in libraries.....

Thats about the extent I can think of that they might pull off

Hahaha ISIS hackers secretly posing as a chat room admins to unsuspecting North Americans, then they start picking everybody off 1 by 1 with the ban hammer. Youve been Banned from this channel - Death to the infidels!
But really just about anyone can cause problems on the net, even from a cave with dial up. Look at what the Liz. squad did to XBL an PS Net. I really hope ISIS doesnt DDOS attack our video games networks. I still remember how annoying that was!

Just remember ...

Think about how many people the US Gov. employs to "combat terrorism". If you worked in counter terrorism, wouldn't you want to keep your job, maybe even secure more funding for your department?

Gee, one way to do that is to keep the threat alive and real. With technology today -- a few "keyboard warriors" -- BAM, you've secured funding for the next fiscal year.

If they really wanted screw us they'd attack the electrical grid.

There's certainly some activity going on today...

Not nearly as bad as before Xmas though. But yeah, somebody is engaged in some kind of cyber warfare at the moment.

Im wondering if its a good idea to discuss all the different ways this could go down? I know they probably already thought of all these possibilities...but to talk about them here?

If ISIS has to get their ideas on how to destabilize a country from ATS thread hypotheticals, we have nothing to worry about.

Not quite.

Norse monitors the 'darknet" or at least sections that they've found for malicious traffic. DDOS attacks, hacking attempts etc.

As you can see right now, it's quite the busy place, which would normally indicate that somebody, or some group of people is hard at work trying something nefarious. I'm currently watching about 1000 attacks every couple of minutes to the USA.

From within the US and China apparently.

Here's some general info on Norse:

looks about how it always does/ i saw it back when world of warcraft came out with an expansion, and nobody could get on the game server. someone linked it on a thread on their forums. then i saw it again later, and was pretty much the same. what it basically depicts is hackers who think they are attacking real businesses but instead are attacking ip tracking servers, then tracks are recorded and displayed on the map you see.
