No, people aren't stupid just because they voted differently than you.

if you want to live in a DEMOCRACY, you have to remember that people are going to have different ideas than YOU, because their situation is different than yours.

Many upper middle class people in the UK are doing very, very well and the Conservative ideals appeal to them.

In a DEMOCRACY, the party who's position platform appeals to the most people who's situation fits that mould generally wins.

It doesn't make THEM stupid, it makes YOU stupid for not realizing that in a democracy, there are many people who have different views and different situations than you.

Just because your situation means that UKIP, SNP, or Labour works best for you, doesn't make everyone else stupid for voting for someone else.

If LABOUR had of spent more time pushing their policy positions instead of bashing everyone else, then maybe more people would understand those policy positions and would have voted for them.

What they're going to do for you & your community is what's important here.
See?

Of course there policy's,.

But the best way you see if they will keep there word is looking at there past actions.

I did have a thing for Mrs May back in 2010, but the stress of office has aged her a little too much for my taste....

The thought of SNP / Labour coalition forced most of the rest of the UK to vote Conservative, you can thank their stupidity and aggressive socialist policies for that.

This is true, and it makes me wonder how much better the likes of UKIP would have done if people weren't so fearful of an SNP/Labour coalition...

If you’ve noticed all over the world, save for Greece, have been voting conservative.

In the US as well.

I believe it is the elites plot to initiate a more severe austerity

Only the screwball conservative philosophy will ruin the economies of the world as fast as you can say “screw yourself”

Its amazing how people are so stupid they vote against their own interest

I mostly agree with the OP.

The morons who switched allegiance tactically voted for Tory to keep out Labour/Lib Dems/UKIP or whatever party are detestable. As for the core Tory voters, they are on a whole other level of disgusting.

The simple fact is people knew full well what the Tories have planned for us all. They might have hid the details, but they didn't hide their intentions. People STILL voted for them.

Theres a law in the UK called Joint Enterprise (common purpose), where all involved in a crime are prosecuted regardless of their actual actions. This is absolutely the same thing. Every single Tory voter is 100% equally culpable in every bad thing that happens to all the innocent, vulnerable, poor, hard working poor and anyone else. If someone dies, they are responsible for that death. If someone loses their home, they made them homeless. Etc etc. They voted for the scum, knowing their intentions and their past form. There simply is no excuse. It is all a part of a common purpose.

There ARE plenty of alternatives, at least in most constituencies. There were independent candidates and minor parties running in most. People with integrity who get brushed aside with a handful of votes, losing out while the known and proven corrupt, self-serving sociopaths with a track record of lying and betraying us all, win a seat in parliament.

What so you think that 11.3 million people are stupid just because you don't agree with how they voted?

Honestly if this is the level of political debate that we are getting now on ATS I am just going to start spending on my time making up random crap in the skunk works just for the hell of it!

No I do not think they are stupid.

I think they are selfish, nasty, even spiteful individuals for knowingly and willingly voting for a spiteful, selfish and nasty party with some horrible plans for the most vulnerable of society. I won't go into any more details into what I think of them as I will end up breaking the T&S and probably the law too.

You're making the enormous assumption that people did "tactically vote for the Tories to keep out Labour/Lib Dems/UKIP", which makes no sense, considering UKIP for example increased their share of the vote by the widest of margins and that Lib/Lab voters are highly unlikely to switch to the Tories at all...

"Spiteful", "selfish" and "nasty"? That's some strong language there...

How about this, the people that voted Tory did so because they have a handle on the economy, more people are in work, taxes are lower, business is doing well, the deficit has been halved and they have promised an EU referendum, while Labour simply had no idea what was going on and still didn't get it after their defeat.

In essence, the electorate agreed with the Tories way of doing things and did not agree with the "progressive" (I hate that term as it is nothing of the sort) politics of Labour and their SNP allies.
