From what your dad has told me you're well on your way and you are blessed with not only being in the Southern Hemisphere which has the most glorious night skies but also being in a real dark sky place where you get to see them a lot!!!

Lucky girl! take full advantage of them Growing up in Western Washington in the USA I cherished every good summer night with great seeing. You get them year round!

Oh, you might be interested in the astrophotography thread over on the Space Exploration forum. Lot's of very helpful and talented people there if you want to learn how to take some stunning pictures of your wonderful skies with your DSLR camera.

And if you want to learn how to detect exoplanets with it and your laptop, send me a U2U

BTW: I'm not sure if your dad told you but I'm only 5 years older than you so don't worry about being on the young side around here. Chances are we probably like some of the same stuff.

There are quite a few of us Aussies here . You can tell us by the fact that we dont think kangaroos are warm and cuddly giant hopping mice but more the fact they write your car off when you run into them . . As for the Aussie group , i hear you already know someone of the acceptance board .
