Or they could give Azerbaijan backed by Turkey to go after Armenia and force Russia's hand.

Typical american thinking. Inciting a bloody war between Armenia and Azerbaijan just to harm Russia.

There used to be a website called escape to the phillipines.com that went far to detail a New Ice age and effectively so I felt, however it is now gone but moving out of the Solar Maximum and heading the other way would fall in line with the cyclical nature of our planet.

Seems to be more than enough Oil in the world for 100's of years to come , not to mention plenty of alternative energy. One must ask, why do we care about Ukrain?

I don't see how the US is better off ruining all the progress we made with Russia over the last decade over Ukrain.

For that matter why do we care if China builds islands that are sure to be destroyed by a future tsunami in the south China sea anyway...it's not energy so what is worth ruining the good relations we were building with our largest competitors?

One could argue that helping Putin in Ukrain would have been more in line with national security of the US and it's people.

I don't like Putin but why exactly are we confronting him in areas with little to no US national interest. Why do we poke at them?

In the past it was oil but that don't hold water now.

This is why:

One thing I understand from my involvement in our government here in NJ is that the natural gas "filling station" at the end of a 48" pipeline that is being run from Texas to Stockton, NJ is supposedly for filling containers of natural gas to be sold overseas, specifically in the Ukraine.

We want their income and want Gazprom out of the picture.
