Excelent thread, but I believe with all my heart and
soul it runs deeper than just America, it's gov. or
it's justice, or prison system. Humanity is losing it's
mind. We seem to be degenerating morally and mentally
at a rapid pace.

If you want some meat to your message maybe reaching out to victims of the for "profit prison" system and share real personal stories. I know a few people directly affected and their stories worth hearing, U2U me if you're interested.

jobsthathirefelons.org...

There are a good number of companies that hire felons.

I can absolutely confirm that The Men's Warehouse does.

Has anyone that you know that "can't" find a job tried any of these places?

What about starting their own business?

That said, for most offenses I believe the record should be wiped clean after the punishment is served.

However, some I think should remain. Sexual crimes, violent felonies (some exceptions will exist), felony theft/fraud, etc.

If I own a private business I have every right to know if a person that I will potentially hire and trust with my livelihood (business) has a history of said crimes.

That explains your motivation than. It's one thing reading about such things, quite another watching it happen to someone you know. Good luck.
