I will go read your link but will say right now that they are in denial if they think they know they are right because they make all their projections off the models and the models confirm that they are wrong . Look at the real temps and then look at the model temps and tell me which one is true .

They have more reasons than that to believe that they are correct. Just because the models aren't 100% correct doesn't mean that man-made climate change isn't real.

The best I can point you to is the Prof. Salby's vid I posted earlier in the thread . You can find a good discussion against Manns hockey stick at Climate Audit .They have a peer reviewed paper that is available there as well . climateaudit.org...

I would rather see my tax dollars go toward researching aliens than a subject liberals have been bitching about since my birth. I'm still here and I guarantee my children will live full lives, etc. etc. and so on - global warming isn't a real threat. Seriously, some of these 'models' had Florida floating away decades ago. Stop with the doom porn and realize that the earth has been going through these stages since its inception.

That's because you don't understand the science behind it. If you had, you'd know how ridiculous 3/4ths of your post made you sound.

Because the first prediction was never actually made. Rather, it’s something of an urban climate myth.

Mann says that this myth started from a “tiny grain of truth around which so much distortion and misinformation has been placed.”
Now come ahead to today and look back on the predictions that Mann and others were basing off of the models and it's even a bigger myth . They didn't account for La-Nina or the lack of La Nino . The ocean currents have the largest effects on the weather patterns and it seems to contribute more to the climate then co2 . No matter how you look at it ,their predictions based of the best science of the day have failed to predict the pause or lack of warming and their models have diverged so far away from reality that they will have to scrap them and start over again .

In fact I will post this link to the excuses which is up to 52 reasons there is no global warming . "List of excuses for ‘The Pause’ in global warming
The Official list of excuses for the 18-26 year ‘pause’ in global warming (compiled by WUWT and The HockeySchtick)

The current count: 52 excuses" wattsupwiththat.com... all the links to all the reasons are there .

The Florida should be underwater by now is one of their favorite strawman arguments. Of course no one can link to a legitimate scientific source that says such, but that does not matter. All the matters is having an argument that sounds good, that jingles, so the lay person can easily remember it.

a reply to: the2ofusr1

Skeptical science links papers to their arguments, like one would expect in a college research paper. The site you linked is essentially someones opinion, without any valid links to back up the claims made.

There isn't even clear scientific consensus on it, just projection models which have ALWAYS been incorrect. Gore predicted the north pole would be iceless around summer 2013, this is just one of the HUNDREDS of false claims that have come and gone over the years. The earth will heat up or cool down regardless of what we do to it. Why waste tax dollars on something we can't stop? Man-made global warming is a joke, go hug a tree while we live our lives as we see fit.

No idiotic Solyndra government-funded bull# will fix it. Scientists nodding their heads "yes" at each other through government grants (provided by the tax payer) will fix it. You are not special, the time you live in is not special, and the weather you are experiencing is not special relative to the history of our planet. You're like a Southern Baptist crying over the second coming and judgement day, it's like a cult in itself. Not falling for it.

And that has to do with the CLimate change how? More sunlight getting through but its not the same as CARBON Supossedly increasing the temperature is it?

Need to legalize it first... Climate Change deniers are just one of the groups that opposes marijuana legalization. Mostly because the oil companies also oppose it.

Edit: It's nice that we agree, but you really should change your stance on recreational marijuana. Especially if you are a supporter of smaller government, but that's a topic for one of my many marijuana threads. Maybe my next one with focus more on hemp than smoking it.

This is my way of thinking about oil companies..they are playing a cat and mouse game with everyone.

Think about this, if the United States government keeps on buying oil (China is actually the world's biggest buyer of oil) from everywhere, while we know that we have oil and Mexico has oil, after it is all bought up from elsewhere, then who will have the oil later? We will.

We are just stringing OPEC along making the Middle East and Central Asian countries think we need their oil so badly, yet it is funny how we have managed to defeat the Germans and Japanese both in WWII by preventing them from getting oil. So we strung them along, they ran out of money and resources and that's how we weakened them.

Eventually Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Bahrain are going to run out of resources. But we will have oil because we kept ours, which is what Germany did between WWI-WWII.

The real truth about "drill here" and why the government won't, the government is stringing them along. I knew this since 1981 when we were being taught about the oil in Mexico in our 8th grade Social Studies class.

Remember the gas crisis of 1976-1977? I saw a political cartoon (no way to find it now) about a Middle Eastern man up on a ladder fixing prices of the gas while an American was riding a bicycle under it looking up with a quizzical expression. To this day that sticks in my mind. The point was, while OPEC was fixing prices and them thinking we were beneath them to need their oil, we were just biding our time, riding on by.

And think about this also, do you really think all that oil being shipped here is actually being used by us? Nope, our government is storing it.

Notice how the EPA came into existence just at the same time as the gas crisis? Notice how we went from regular to unleaded, because they told us that it would reduce pollution? Suddenly we had no more gas crisis. Notice how all of this happened at the same time?

The US is reserving way more than the government is telling us. And we are not drilling like we could. We are simply biding our time.

That's because you haven't looked at the science. It's always that simple. You disregard it because that is what your confirmation bias tells you to do. And you refuse to look at evidence that could pop that isolated bubble of yours. Meanwhile, I've been REQUESTING evidence to the contrary of my opinions since the beginning of the thread. Not surprisingly very few to none of the people in your camp has provided any. Usually just various dubious sources and never a scientific study.

Case in point: No links or evidence for you, just strong language saying that you are closed minded. Well I already knew that. You are a science denialist.

Duh. That's why climate science denialism is untrustworthy. All those buzzphrases and retorts that denialists have used in this thread were literally written by the oil companies. Denialists are literally bending to the oil companies' will by denying climate change. It's ridiculous.

ETA: How can they be growing if the world is warming??

That's only one small thing though and one piece of evidence. Then you need to find out if they have shrunk before and what the projections of growth are and all of the historic data. And then even with that, you only have one small piece of climate data.

I totally agree. As I also posted earlier that data records would be needed and monitored for hundreds of generations and not based off of just the last 100 - 200 yrs as the earth is like how old now. So come on people don't waste extreme amounts of money on something that's not worrisome
