The ISS depending on weather, may be visable in the Continental United States during the holidays:

Christams Morning: the orbiting station should be visible during the predawn hours. NASA warns thought at 5 miles a minute, it won't be visiable for long.

It will also be visable at various times between Chriotmas Eve and New Year's. To find out when you can go to:

IT's a very cool thing to see..
I watched it a couple of years ago, during a shuttle mission.
Had NASA TV on, in the house, so I could see exactly when to run outside.

Right After the shuttle undocked. There were TWO points of light trailing each other..On the next pass, they were farther apart, and again on the next pass.
After that they were too low on the Horizon for me to see..
