Because they don't need to do that. If he wants respect from law enforcement, then he should give it by keeping his happy arse off the streets after curfew. If not, don't expect happy police who are dealing with riots.

And no, I'm not a statist in the least, but I am a realist.


Actually miranda rights are only read upon interrogation. You can be arrested without them.

While technically correct, it's poor practice not to do so upon arrest, because if the person says anything pertinent to the case and they haven't been marandized, what they say is inadmissable as evidence.

It would be a very bad mistake--and no policy of any LEO that I know--not to marandize someone upon arrest.
