North Korea's Kim cancels planned visit to Russia: Kremlin

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has canceled his planned visit to Moscow to attend Russia's World War II anniversary celebrations on May 9, President Vladimir Putin's spokesman said Thursday.

"He will not come. This is related to internal North Korean issues,"

Earlier this year the Kremlin said Kim had agreed to travel to Russia for the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany, in what had been expected to become Kim's first foreign trip since taking power in 2011.

Russia has invited 68 heads of state and leaders of international organisations, Kim joined a long list of the planned no-shows including U.S. President Barack Obama and the leaders of France and Britain.

How could you do this Kim, Vladi though you and him were besties

There better be a good reason for planting your only allied like that, you must be facing a coup otherwise there is no reason to burn the bridges with the only other country in the world menacing to nuke anyone.

With all seriousness it is sad no one is going to celebrate the Russian effort in WWII, they did the most to win and no matter current relations there should be some respect to that.

Perhaps in a more meaning full anniversary, 75 maybe?

What possible internal issues prevent Kim to make a trip to the only country that would receive him? perhaps nothing related to internal NoKo issues and more with internal Kim issues, a heart problem preventing him to catch a flight?

Glorious leader is actually saving the universe.

If Kim and Vladimir Putin were to enter the same room there would be a meme-splosion causing a violent outburst of hawking radiation which would envelop the Earth and potentially start a closed time like loop halting human progress as we know it. At the very least, reddit would have down time.

If i were the US president id go i see he declined but i think id go. Be like putin having his mother in law over cant say anything but he doesn't like it.

Seoul (CNN)North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is continuing to rule with an iron fist, having ordered the execution of about 15 senior officials so far this year, according to an assessment by South Korean intelligence agents, a lawmaker who attended a closed briefing said.............

From some of the reasons of why they have been executed he seems a tad paranoid.

Perhaps he is afraid to leave and lose power while he is gone.
