Some RC operators..

I don't know how they wrap their brain around all the contextual direction changes, but some of the stuff they do is incredible.

Some of the RC heli competitions have literally made my jaw drop. I know this is focusing more on the quad, I just find what pilots can do incredible.

It is real, I'd love to have something like that with a Virtual Reality / Oculus Rift headset on.

I reckon if the pilot was wearing a VR headset it would probably blow his mind! All that ultra fast manoeuvering would be absolutely horrendous when viewed in the first person. Or fantastic, depending on your mindset!!

On another note, the noise the drone makes is awesome.

I build and fly RC aircraft of many sorts. Maybe the video is sped
but if so its not far at all from actual capabilities. Going forward in tech
the quad realm specifically, will scare the poo out of Homeland Security.
But we RC people just like flying and building. I haven't met a single person in
5 years will ill intent.

I have seen some ill intent..

One of my friends had just finished repairing/modding his RC copter after a crash (roughly 1k in repairs and about 80 hours work). Ten seconds after lift off, something failed catastrophically and destroyed the RC pretty completely.

I am pretty sure if I had said anything , there would have been an incident!

I think that is all changing though, as these devices become more accessible and easier to use. For now though, my biggest worry is rotors. Those things scare me.

TAKE MY GALACTIC CREDITS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome bit of kit...Was just thinking (dangerous) with reaction speeds like that you have to wonder how far humans can push things.

I can't believe how close the sound is to George Lucas's idea of a "speeder" .....

It's like chilling close.

If real...this is awesome! But I'm leaning on the video maybe being sped up a bit

Ok so after a second look at the video…I noticed…the bugs skip frames and appear to move very speed up as opposed to the probably faster moving drone. So why doesn't the drone skip frames like the bugs appear to. Also there seems to be a weird unstable jitter to the video when he is tracking the insane movements and maneuvers but when it is not hitting abnormal speeds and maneuvers it seems more stable. I don't think it's definitive proof of editing but I sure would take a better look at the video before I absolutely believed it was real.

The specks crossing the screen are most likely bugs.

Excuse me........, How the hell you know that?

Fair guess. They look very close to the lens.

I know

I don't like that drone. Must be disturbing for birds.

Think that's cool. some new configurations out now have drone with vtails.

the vtail gives you more maneuverability.

check it out.

Hoax!

The inverse cos(1/12) is about 85 degrees. Which means that for a high speed horizontal pass the whole drone should be tilted at approximately 85 degrees which it is not. This is because at a 12:1 trust to weight ratio, only 1/12 of the max thrust needs to be in the vertical direction. An't physic a bitch.

I wonder if the v-tail improves maneuverability in more windy conditions. I think graysquirrel is claiming hoax on the quadcoptr video. But, we know its not...

That thing looks like one of the HK drones from the Terminator movies.

And, even if the quadrotor video is sped up, it's still pretty amazing.

have been for years. no reason a drone can't
