At 1.24 the balloon pops , all I see is bits of balloon .... and an X-Wing.

I see what you are talking about. At the end of the video it looks like a ship or a space station is in the background.

That's really cool.... It's awesome what common people can do if they put their mind to it.

At 1:24 the only thing i see is the balloon popping out so the x-wing and camera can come back home.

I've had a similar project on the back burner for a couple of years. I really hoped to have completed by now, but, work, life, an' all...

For those interested in a similar project, you will find information, here:

What if an airplane or jet were to hit that thing either on it's way up or down? Should people be allowed to release things like that into the sky when it could endanger others. It does not come straight down, if it falls on someone walking down the street they would be seriously injured. Same with those little drone aircraft people are flying to high altitudes. They should be regulated.

It's just a weather balloon. The various meteorological agencies release them all of the time. There is already regulation on where you cannot release them i.e. close to an airport. In the UK, some sites are already pre-registered with the CAA so we can launch them easily, without too much of a headache.

If there is not a problem, it does not need breaking, with yet more regulation.

balloon remnants?
then why do they look like stars?
and all seem to be in one place?

so much for NASA.
people with little money are putting things in space.
near it any way.
soon they will be getting to the moon.
15 years I bet you.

What happens to your figures if say five thousand people in the US start launching balloons a couple times each summer? What happens if every other household starts to fly remote control drones around?

There are already over NOAA 70,000 weather balloon launches each year, in the US alone.

Launching balloons, isn't the same as flying drones around built-up areas.
