Hey there ATS, I was just presented a japanese lucky charm!
I work at a hotel, and a japanese lady gave it to some of us as a gift.I wasn't handed to me personally, she gave to a coworker of mine.
I guessed someone on ATS could probably tell me a bit more about it (yes, I googled it but i couldn't find any additional info).

I don't know its name. All I know is that it's made from seashells covered in kimono fabric, and tied together by a short string. You are suppose to take it everywhere with you, because, well... it's a lucky charm!

Any additional info you can provide would be great!
Thanks for reading!

Looks like an Omamori - given for good luck or protection.

The seashells are for wishing - so probably wrapped in the fabric (which is highly sacred),means your dreams come true.

How sweet that this lady left you this! You must have done a wonderful job.

Wow thanks! I'm really into this sort of stuff, I have small gold cross and a double vayra, which is super special to me.
Any idea if it's connected to religion, or something like that?
Im really happy she gave us this, she told us, her mother makes these, so it makes it double special.
Well, we try lol, they are a group that are staying for work, and have been here for about 20 days. So we'll surely miss them when they re gone, since we are not a big hotel, only 30 rooms.

Thanks Sublime! I'm really fond of protection amulets, I have a few which I love and carry around every now and then, any time I feel the need.
