**Between Friday morning, April 17, and Monday, April 20, four people were shot to death and 32 people were wounded. On Saturday, weather conditions were cool. On Sunday, it rained.
The heat of summer in Chicago has yet to fully arrive, and people are already dying.
Where is Mayor Emanuel? When will he speak out on the already escalating violence and mobilize the resources necessary to prevent another summer of bloodshed?**

I wonder if Rahm ever really considered stuff like solving violence when he ran for Mayor. He comes across as a henchman, not a leader. He's great at bad-mouthing Republicans though!

Hey Chicago, gun control doesn't work.
Let people defend themselves and watch the violent crime drop.

They tried by banning guns. They failed to consider the fact criminals don't comply with the law, like Obama when ram was chief of staff. Scotus said they can't ban guns and democrats don't have any other solutions. Maybe they are hoping the shootings just burns itself out.

Banning guns would work, but it's not an overnight solution. It's the sort of thing that would require a ban for 25 years to get all the guns off the streets. And even if you have the political will to do that, you can't just ban guns in one city or state, people will just go over the border and get more. It would have to be a nationwide ban.

In short, even though it would work if enacted long enough, on a large enough scale it's not practical (ignoring the constitutional issues). Even if someone could ban guns and hold power to keep the ban in place for 10 years it would just be reversed eventually.

banning guns means law-abiding people can't carry but the thugs/criminals do.

tell the dems; disarm the thugs before you think about taking my legal sidearm.
