Insightful summary of the complicated relations of the numerous races that inhabit this planet. Whenever I look a minority in the eye I feel as if they see me has a villain to be destroyed and beliefs crushed under the socialist Marxist lie of the liberal elite.

White people who complain about this being ironic or say "boohoo I want a white history month, why can they have one and I can't?!", are part of the problem and a big reason racism still exists today in the US. Learn something about historical context and perhaps you'll understand.

Black History is American History, and there's a lot of black people who could care less about Black History Month. But for now, yes they are allowed to complain a little more than white people and have a month to celebrate their heritage. And white people don't . Big friggin deal.

Sadly, there are far too many "righteous" Christian "patriots" in the United States that would see absolutely NO sarcasm, only truth, in those words.

That happens in America also and surely you have the capacity to understand why. Along with Puerto Rican, Caribbean, Irish and the list goes on and on. This guy makes a sign with the word "white" in it and people go bananas. It is comical, but also denote some training. If the sign was "Asian History Month" it would not get even a mention.

I guess you missed all the days of celebration in our culture and heritage throughout your life.....Xmas, columbus day, easter etc....

Would Iit be wrong for an Albino to celebrate being white? The rest of us are supposed to be quiet about being white (pinkish?), we're either privileged or white trash, nothing in between.

If I was an Albino though, I'd be wanting a celebration month....

I believe part of the problem is that black history is still being made in the concern that considerable racism against the black race continues to this day and has a ways to go before it can even be considered "history".

Recently, my car broke down when I was trying to return from giving a friend a ride 4 hours away.
It was evening and the area was considerably rural. I had no phone/number of friend to call.
I managed to pull my dying car into a repair shop which was closed.
As I considered my predicament, 2 cops(maybe the same one twice) drove by and I'm sure saw me in my car.
I walked to a nearby convenience store for help and the lady inside called some people to see if they could give me a ride. They could not.
I was able to give a stranger money to give me a 20 minute ride back to where my friend was staying.
In the morning, the repair shop was very accommodating, fixed me right up for a really fair price and I was on my way.

Rural communities are very kind and helpful when you're down. This is just something I've always understood.

However, I have to wonder how my experience above may have gone if I were a black man.

Would the cops have let me sit in my car in a closed shop?
Would the people in the store have been as helpful?
Could I have gotten a ride from a complete stranger?
Would the shop have been so helpful and fair?

I like to think they would and in no way want to make assumptions about the people that aided me that day.
But, my wisdom tells me that the experience would have gone quite differently.

Any thoughts?
