Again, the point I’m making is the underestimation of woman of the male sexual urge

No, I'm pretty sure we know. Fortunately mature adult men are okay with it too. The ones who can't manage it go to places like............ prison.

I can't tell you guys on this thread how proud I am of you for stepping up on this!

I'm not from the USA. However I'm aware of the huge problem you guys have with women breastfeeding in public.
I do recommend for men who find this odd, to watch a documentary called "the milky way". It's a good way to see breastfeeding for what it is and to learn about the horrific stuff babies are "eating" because men can't handle seeing a woman breastfeeding in public. This has gone so far that even women think it's disgusting, when, in fact, is a natural process of life.

This being said, I kinda agree with what she said. The inability to separate sutuations is a problem.
It's the same problem why girls are raped for wearing a short skirt. "She was asking for it". That's seriously wrong. And for what I see, the breastfeeding thing is going down the same road.

To all of you who kindly replied the OP anda agree that these women should be defended instead of attacked, you guys rock. The world need more men like you.

True story.

Bull# if you ask me. It's the most normal thing there is here in Iceland.

The same throughout most of Western Europe.
Americans throw a hissy fit if a woman flashes a nipple on TV though, and they claim to be leaders of the free word... mentally, emotionally, religiously, sexually, America is very backward.

Sorry, but it's true. A modern and well adjusted society doesn't create an acronym for people kissing in public - PDA

How many men vs. how many women responded to this OP.

I am a woman and very modest, so chances are I would not have breastfed in public. But if I had lived 200 years ago, maybe.

I see it is mostly men on here who are debating whether or not it should be viewed sexually, while I say that men do indeed view it as sexual, as do lesbians.

I can see that America is extremely highly sexualized, but ashamed of it publicly, unless they are in bars or gay parades. Have you been in Hooters lately?

I think that is the whole issue, American men adore highly sexualized women, but a little ashamed of it. I think they seem to be trapped between the old order chivalry and modern feminist definitions of appropriateness.

I think also people forgot the context, she was breast feeding, so therefore men are comfortable with that aspect. Had she not been breastfeeding and showing everything, then the conversation would be different, but as a woman who is not lesbian, I find nothing wrong with it. And I would imagine lesbians also would have no problem with it.

But in American society, breasts are seen as either sexual or for feeding babies. Depends on the context. And just maybe some American women are modest enough to not be comfortable thinking about their own breasts apart from sexualization?

She was breastfeeding, which is rarer now among American women, especially younger ones. Maybe it also depends on the age of the woman, if she were 13 (yes, it happens), and breastfeeding, it would be a little harder to accept. But a 30 year-old, it doesn't have the same connotation.

I think most good American men would actually cry if they saw a 13 year-old girl breastfeeding. Maybe that is the protective fatherly side of them. I mean think about it, if an American father whose 13 year-old daughter became pregnant (God forbid it being because of rape or incest), just how does he deal with it?

I am not saying it is ok for 13 year-old girls to get pregnant, only that it does happen. I don't think the men on this thread would be comfortable if their daughter had to breastfeed the baby. I think he would be down at the store buying baby formula. But I don't know, I never had children. How would most of you men deal with that?

A boob's first purpose is to express milk though surely, so isn't the problem in the mind of whoever cant see a tit without going all Beavis and Butthead?

Absolutely cracked me up! Still laughing! And so true. A young immature boy, inexperienced in sexual matters, would giggle and experience it as something sexual. Not to say some mature men might not be uncomfortable, (some women too) but they wouldn't experience it as a 'sexual encounter'.

How did most young boys discover porn? Daddy's Playboys or National Geographic.

I remember the episode of Sylvia on Little House on the Prairie, those boys were looking at the Sears Roebuck catalogue.

Lol! So true, and the lingerie section in J.C. Pennies catalogue! But still, perfectly normal part of adolescent behavior.

I think with most American males seeing a woman breastfeed in public is more of a 'shock factor'. Like, oops! that woman is feeding her baby! And even I as a woman, look away quickly to be polite. I mean, I don't try to start a conversation with her or anything, like "oh, how old is your baby?" I just keep moving because I think it's the polite thing to do, whereas a teen boy might stare until his mother pokes him in the ribs. lol.

Sorry, and maybe we are "backwards", but I don't see immodesty as some type of enviable trait, or some "progressive' characteristic we should immolate. If we are modest a while longer, suits me. I assure you it's fading fast.

I actually find modesty rather charming.

see that's the thing, in some countries they have toilets right on the sidewalk, and yes some are open with no cover to hide anything, so yea whipping it out to go is fine when perversion doesn't determine your mindset.

it seems to me that restrictive societies are the actual perverse ones by nature thus they create rules and laws to suppress their perverse nature, maybe if americans weren't such perverts then maybe they could see benign natural things for what they are rather than being suspicious all the time of everyone.

It's true, we don't need to be staring.

But how do these men on this thread think about women and men piercing their nipples? Apparently they aren't just for feeding....lol.

To that I say "WHY?" Ewww, that has to hurt.

Hey, I said that I, ME, THIS PERSON, is modest. I can't speak for the rest of America.

But we don't have Monaco, San Marino or any of those other famous nude beaches (ours are hidden).

Are you saying we are fat and love to show it off?

I have no problem with this lady breast feeding in public but what gets me is her saying some people find it sexual and that’s something wrong with them.

Doesn’t she understand that the sexual aspect of this IS HER BREASTS?

Not the baby’s big ass head

Woman are sometimes too cavalier about understanding the sexual nature of men, I believe.

Or are they just pretending they don’t understand?

If you can only see it as sexual, that's your problem.

The US is one of the only countries in the world not under sharia law where everyone freaks out about a woman's boob.

The news and all the shows on TV can show people burned to death, ripped apart by explosions/zombies, gunned down, or stabbed but GOD FORBID someone see a bare female nipple!!

We, as a country, really have to get over this childish puritanical view of nudity and sex.

What is ironic about Sharia law, is that even though Muslim men scream about women and their dress in Islamic countries sure spend a lot of money on porn, prostitutes and nude bars in other countries.

Yes, American porn is the biggest export to Muslim countries. They give us oil, we give them porn..and not only us, but Russia, China, Japan, the UK, France, Germany...you name it.

Shariah law...just a code word for "me man like wife dressed so other man no see her, but I look at other man's woman in brothel or movie....drooooooooollll"

Porn in Islamic Countries

You know, when I Googled it, I typed "porn in islam" there were a lot of porn sites....I had to keep scrolling to find the article. What does that say about Shariah law?

Why don't they just stop mistreating their women and admit that they love porn?

Porn is big all over the world but the US is the largest producer and consumer, by far.

When nudity and sex are repressed and considered taboo, people tend to seek out porn even more. People are drawn to whatever feels "wrong" and "dirty."
