That's wonderful to see - so much detail and so many layers of paint. And the end result is a really detailed livery.

How often do planes get a paint job?

It depends. We used to have to at least touch our jets up every few months. They would go through a storm and it would strip the paint off the leading edges. Commercial aircraft usually get repainted when they go through a heavy check.

It all has to be tightly controlled on thickness of coats as weight equals drag equals fuel used..
