Once again i find myself to be so proud to be human . The above article is about the last northern white rhino and his bodyguards . It seems no one noticed back in 1980 that only 15 remained . EPIC fail humans , 100 no 200 years to late to start protecting them . All of these animals killed , and for what . So some person somewhere can try some of the magical powers of ground up rhino horns only to find it doesn't work . They may as well have chewed their fingernails , same thing , keratin . So you didn't get to shag your missus or as i suspect your mistress , no problem kill another rhino i did not have enough . A rhino horn is not going to help you get it up unless you implant it . Losers . The purchase of viagra has been found in 100 percent of cases not to harm rhinos . And i would suggest in most if not all cases it can get you that 10 seconds of pleasure , yes i said 10 seconds . Losers . Now i don't believe in a god , but if you are out there perhaps it is time for another flood , except this time give the animals water wings , they did not do anything wrong . Then again perhaps the plan is already in motion .

Agreed. We can be a shameful scummy species, consumed by greed and our own appetites.

I wonder if there is a substance that could be inserted into the living keratin of a rhino horn. One that is toxic to humans but won't affect the rhino. Kind of like the nasty stuff that can be put on fingernails to discourage biting, except it is lethal to humans and remains benignly in the horn for the life of this mighty creature.

Int every rhino drill a tiny hole into the horn and inject the substance.

Then tell the world!

If they refuse to heed then so be it.

I'd gladly sacrifice a hundred stupid little men than lose one rhino.

Fracking Humans Eh! grrrrrrrrrr... Homo Moronicus and Homo Loser are closely related and far too prevalent in this world.

is it mean i do not trust people in Kenya to do a good job keeping it safe?
they should transfer the male and two females to the nearest place that has shall we say a more efficient infrastructure?
If we actually care about these animals, makes sense to bring them to a place that can act faster in case of need.

It's not mean, no. Here's why:

I visited a 'tortoise sanctuary' in Vietnam. These guys were running a place which bred tortoises and released them back into the wild. They were doing this because poachers were earning thousands of $$s per year catching these creatures and selling them on to people who think they are good medicine. These poachers were earning upwards of $30k per year - more than most Vietnamese earn in a decade. The sanctuary was doing good. But were these guys in the sanctuary being paid $30k per year? Of course not. I had the same suspicions about them - they were clearly helping the tortoise population but I cannot for one second believe that in a nearly 3rd world country they were handling this 'gold' and not 'pocketing' a bit for themselves.

Same with the Rhinos, Kenyans are poor compared to the price a Rhino goes for. It takes some strong morals to say no to $100k, some strong morals most humans don't have.

exactly, i mean to be blunt, you can read all about how easy it is to bribe cops in south africa, i'm not thinking people working in that park are being so well paid they are beyond turning the other way.
I remember one or more of the animals being in a zoo in the czech republic at some point.
would have been better to leave them there.

After 2000, six northern white rhinoceros had lived in the Dvůr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic but four of them (which were also the only reproductive animals of this subspecies) were transported to Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya, Africa, in 2009,[4] where scientists hoped they would successfully breed and save this subspecies from extinction; one of the four died in October 2014. One of the two remaining in the Dvůr Králové Zoo died in late May 2011, making Nabire the only rhino there.[5] Another rhino presently lives at the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park in California. A second rhino, Angalifu, also lived at the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park and died in December 2014.

people are sex crazed. Stop having so much sex and you will be able to get it up longer and enjoy it more. No need to use witch craft or even pseudo-science to get it up just have some self control then maybe you can control the death of a species.
