I guess it might be nicer to call it a lounge. LOL!!!

Cody, you must be so excited and yet scared. Keep your head. Don't let anything get past you.

Good Morning all. I have a long day at work.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Here in the states, I think most of us are warming up.

Cody: Hey you!! Good luck with everything, I hope it all goes exactly the way you want! Give the cuddle monster a *squish* for me!

Thanks Kat

To be honest I was pretty scared at first, I've spent ages going through our finances and seeing *ahem* what we can afford
I've spoken to a few financial advisors and we would like to a few thousand back to make our dream kitchen and bathroom, (Finally a rangemaster dual fuel oven Woooohoooooooo) but we seriously need to sell this place fast if at all possible. For a flat it's massive by UK standards, and commutable to London so it has a lot going for it.

Thing is we call it the flat, what we'd like is a place we call home, if you get my drift.

JC Hun it's been sooooooooooooo long ..................... My bad, not yours, how have you been ? And are you getting on top of those headaches yet ? How's Sophie ? And if a unicorn farts a rainbow how many oranges are there in a bunch of grapes ? There's so many questions going on in my somewhat limited cranial capacity I might just join you in a drink

Fellow Shedites, originals, and newer members of our extended family, for make no mistake, we are a family and we are here regardless in times of joy, sorrow, and everything else for each other, in times of need, my thanks, the only thing we are missing is a Shedite baby
Although we all love Night's Ickle Cody

Get to it

I'm thinking our motto should be

Attempting a pizza tonight Augustus

All help gratefully received

Tomorrow slow roasted pork, with yorkshire puddings, suet pudding, and of course roast potatoes, apparently vegetables are on the menu as well
The roast is second nature, but making a pizza is touching my toe into new territory.

I'll post on your food porn IF it works out

Sure. Make sure the dough is properly proofed so it retains its shape when stretched. Do not used cooked tomatoes for the sauce, blanch, peel, deseed and the puree fresh ones. Use buffalo mozzarella if you can locate it. Preheat your oven for at least half an hour at its highest setting and use a large pizza stone if possible.

Here in the states, I think most of us are warming up.

In my part of the world, yesterday and the day before, the weather was both fantastic and a welcome relief!
Yesterday, my youngest and I went hiking. Just a quick 3 mile jaunt, before dinner, to a little obscure park that we had driven through in the past but, always thought...Meh...doesn't look too fun.
It was so refreshing to be outside and ENJOY it. Today, I believe, there is going to be dreary rain. Oh well, you have to take the good with the bad.
The park turned out to be not quite as boring as we had always thought it would be. There were lots and lots of deer tracks to follow AND a little peculiar shot of history thrown in. Apparently, back in the 30s, there had been a dam built.

NOT a great photo but, this is me upstream of it. It (the dam) was 16 feet high at the head of it and held back a 100 acre lake that was 20 feet deep at it's deepest. It had lasted for one year before it broke.
No coincidence, I'm sure, that the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) was established the next year!

There was a little foot bridge beside a small waterfall that allowed for photo ops.

All in all we gave the park a 7 out of 10. Time spent with offspring and NO internet...priceless!
Today, basketball!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, I am convinced that, sometimes, it IS what WE make it!

Hi Bird! Yes Our times of good and bad are created by Us! Very astute!

As far as the dam, Im thinking it didn't just 'break'... There was most likely a nefarious element to its demise... Just My thoughts on that...
I Loved Your story entry! The way You have with words, in Your tales, is really good!

Well now, THAT's an interesting take! Perhaps an investigation is in order! There is supposed to be (at the far end) an old train trestle. WAAAAYYYY back THAT was the route between Knoxville and Nashville. Can you imagine the stories from those travellers?
We had decided since that park closes at 5 (signage FIRMLY in place almost YELLING that!) and it was going on 5 we should skeedattle on out of there lest we get locked in...perhaps next time we will go to the trestle...

Good Morning BTW and thanks for your kind words!

wait...is it too early for THAT ( ) ?!
What the heck!
Have two!

Top o' the Morn' to You as well Bird! And You are very Welcome!

Perhaps the TVA needed that small river(?) to feed some power equipment??! Just thinkin' here a little. ( I know that's dangerous at times but...) LOL!!

Stories from Those travelers would indeed most likely be intriguing! Especially if One had possibly seen what actually happened to that dam, when it happened!? My My but My Mind can wander...

The 5 o'clock closures are odd, to Me at least. Why so early? What goes on in there after hours? (Check it out sometime! Maybe good material to put into one of Your tales here! Like, "They were dressed in long black hooded robes, walking single file along the River. All 13 of them were..."
LOL!!
Just sayin'!

Hope Your day goes well!

To add Bird, I don't drink nearly as much as I used to, which was on a daily basis. As much as I'd like to, the cost prohibits my partaking of the wonderful elixirs...

When I was put on Disability, from two Doc's, My income dropped, no Plummeted! We try to get by now on monthly , of My last job's pay, one week of Pay... To give a figure toit would be difficult as We worked overtime a lot for weeks on end, then none at all. But an average week back then was about $850.00. It was nice...

Pre-Prohibition? As in stronger? Or just made with Booze that One could trust, a bit more than during Prohibition, when Bath Tub Gin was rampant in The Speak Easy's?...

Pre-Prohibition cocktails refers to the preceding eras (dating back to the 1700s) when many of the more recognized modern cocktails were invented and allows you to recreate them with the same recipes and techniques. Many craft distillers also recreated certain types of liquors and tinctures that had been discontinued years ago to help prepare more authentic cocktails.

I you are interested in this I recommend the Death & Co. cocktail book which is by far the best one out there.

THat looks intriguing, to Me at least, and may make the purchase woth the funds. (if I canget some stuff sold online from here for it! LOL)

Hey, You interested in Hot Wheels? Sorry no Red-Lines. But I do have some Very collectible Sets! Some of the packaging got damaged from improper storage and Our last move.. I know, not good, but some are still pristine!
