Thanks WIS. I am actually curled up with my big cat right now. She is a chair hog. She sits beside me and then pushes off on the side to make me scoot over. LOL They are all so spoiled. Loved the chunky sock idea, so I ran and got me some!

I think I'll have hot cocoa with whipped cream and a hint of whiskey. A plate of cookies, some brie and olives and ....is there more in here? Oh deviled eggs with pop-corn shrimp. Mmmm

MMMMM I love deviled eggs. (But no onions in them please). Hmmm Paul has a whisky that is salted caramel, I bet it would go perfect with your hot cocoa

Martin these guys read your story and asked to come along.

Santa just dropped in with a mistletoe, how nice.

a reply to: Martin75
Yes salted caramel sounds good and of course no onions, I have a Danish recipe that will make you sing.

( I have already done X-mas and am alone house sitting, just a tiny bit bored)

Damn it in coming thunder storm. I am surrounded by mile high trees. Hmpf.

I am just wrapping the last of my gifts. Tomorrow my craziness begins. I work 630-11 (luckily only a half day), Paul's family at my house at 3. Then we go down to my birth family and celebrate. Then tomorrow morning it's Paul's grandmother's, then my adoptive family for Christmas dinner. Then finally Paul and I can enjoy a little quiet time. That's the only thing I hate about Christmas. You always seem to be at such a dead run you never really get to sit and soak it in.

Oh I love the picture!!! You always have the most beautiful and peaceful pictures!

We are having thunder storms here also. It's crazy. Thunder storms at Christmas in West Virginia!!!

Now go drag your Paul under the mistletoe and get some magic work'n there girl.

Why are Holidays so stressful, people go nuts, and it is all cramped into one day. Let's go back to when we would celebrate for a week. Now that is celebration.
Your day sounds stressed poor you, get a head ache, have a flat tire or two, bundle up in bed draw the curtains put out the "Contagious" sign and relax.
I have a sign I hang on my front door it reads "Go Away, unless the house is burning". I demand personal time. I am not obliged to answer the phone or open the door.

West Virginia has The Blue Ridge mountains, right?
What is this, thunder storms, twisters. I do enjoy the "No shovel" part.

In sunny Aussie Land it is about 110 degrees. That is hot.

Our beaches are packed and it is midday of the day before Xmas.

My dog is sitting next to me right under the path of the airflow from the air-conditioner. What a sensible lad he is. I don't know why he doesn't just take off his fur coat! He looks hot in that thing!

Yes, I live in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and LOVE it.

This was about 5 miles from my house at the state park. I love it here. Yeah we have usually had to do plenty of shoveling by now. So far our snow has been minimal. Although I wouldn't mind getting snowed in. LOL

I don't complain about the running too much. We don't do it often. Paul & I "check out" on the weekends. I work day shift and he works nights so we really only have weekends. Everyone knows it's "our time".

It is yucky rainy here but 58 so the temps have been great. So much easier putting Christmas lights up in T-Shirt than in a snowsuit. LOL

I like the sound of Christmas on the beach but I have seen the animals you guys have. Sorry I will not go anywhere that has spiders bigger than me! HEHEHE

Hay Pheonix, that is just wrong, I wish I was on the beach.
Any way. When I lived by the sea or I was at work (off shore) I would tell the seagulls to bring a message to my loved ones. Now you tell one of those birds to come say hello to us.

A silly thing to do but when one is weeks or months away from friends it's kind of comforting. It's an other being to talk to and not just a piece of paper or a phone. It was a different time. No instant response.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the Shed
Not a creature was stirring, we were all in our beds..
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
And the pixies were snoring, cuddling wee teddy bears.

The dragons were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of roast-ogres danced in their heads.
Night, Syx and CC had sipped their nightcaps,
and just settled down for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from our beds to see what was the matter.
A look through the window revealed a surprise,
and no one believed what they saw with their eyes.

For there on the grass, making marks in the snow
Was Jessie (and her Mum) in the moonbeams below.
They lay on their backs, making Snow Angels there,
And stardust was sparkling on their cheeks and their hair.

The snowflakes were flying, so soft yet so quick,
We all thought it was magic! it must be St Nick.
But when we looked closer, we suddenly knew,
The figure approaching wasn't Santa – It was True!

And there by his side, were WIS, Pheonix and Foss!
Who knew what to say? We were all at a loss.
The door was flung open and all came inside,
to hug by the fire on this magical Yuletide.

But there were more surprises coming our way,
to light up our hearts on that crisp winters day,
As the back door creaked open, it was someone we knew,
With the sleigh full of drinks, and a smile for us too.

As Dawg stood there smiling, we all gave him a hug,
Apart from a fairy, who gave his tail a wee tug.
His smile just got wider, when he realised that...
It wasn't a Fairy! It was our very own Kat!

The laughter got louder, and we hugged once again,
whilst yawning and stretching came Jacy and Jane.
Who could have known that they'd only got up,
and not yet been roused by their first morning cup!

Their eyes-how they twinkled! and dimples how merry!
Their cheeks were like roses, and noses like a cherries!
But it wasn't the presents or last night's hot toddy,
'twas a face in the doorway... It was our old friend Cody!

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
As he filled all our stockings, and turned with a jerk.
While laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang on his “beast”, and gave us a whistle,
Then flew down the road, like the down of a thistle.
With Timely and AB's and many more coming in,
We all knew it was time for the party to begin!

If anyone else has been missed from the list,
please don't get upset, this is hard when I'm...... tired! LOL
So to all who take part, or who lurk out of sight....
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”

Greetings, salutations and Christmasy good wishes to everyone!

Hello folks! I am dropping a message here to say that I wish the entire Shed, and everyone who has ever frequented its hallowed confines, the merriest, most unabashed, and utterly satisfying Christmas, not to mention the very best of fortunes in the year ahead, and indeed, beyond.

No matter how you celebrate, who you celebrate with, or how close to the floor you manage to get under the weight of food and drink in your bellies, have a beautiful time, and remember the good things in life. I know I shall, and some of the best, and most important memories will be the ones I have made here, with you good people. I know I have not been around as much as usual, but that does not mean I have not been thinking of you all, and wishing the best for every one of you.

Christmas is a time for family, and so consider yourselves duly hugged to the point of structural integrity loss, and loved, very much.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmasy good wishes to you as well! (I love that!)

Have you ever considered creating a greeting card business?

It would absolutely be a success!

And after reading Gordi's post, above, I'm thinking you two should start a business together!

Wishing you a beautiful Christmas,

love,
