Hey Bug!
They LOVED their wee trip to the C&W festival, so at the moment all they are talking about is Cowboys! (Boring!!! LOL)
But they usually swing around to more Sci-Fi kind of stuff... Transformers, Dr Who or Star Wars characters.
I did build them a Dalek (from Dr Who) a couple of years ago!! That was Fun!

The top part was separate from the body, attached to an old cycle helmet (worn like a hat) so it could turn round when they turned their own head. The body rested on two shoulder pads, so it was easy to carry around. (It even had a voice changer toy in it to re-create the Daleks voice "EXTERMINATE!!!" LOL

I'm actually trying to work out a way of recreating the "Minions" from Despicable me!! I think that would be a great laugh but I'm struggling to come up with a suitable material to make them with.... Papier Mache maybe??

Hello Sheddite/Accasia people!

My day out with my friend today and it is going to be brutally hot and humid. You know the kind of day where you could fry an egg on the sidewalk. I have at least one med that makes you flush/hot and being hot and humid on top of that, I melt! Even in the air conditioned stores I'm sweating. Hate it! At least in the Winter when the stores crank the heat too high, I can dress in layers and take off a sweater and have a sleeveless dress or shirt on. In the Summer, there is just so much you can take off. LOL

I keep the ac temperature so low in my house,

everyone else has sweaters and coats on, and I am still sweating!

Man, did I ever find some amazing bargains today! I got a reproduction French Brue doll from the Hamilton collection. Original price 195.00. I got her for 5.00. She has a parasol missing, outfit a bit sun faded and shoes missing and the feathers on her hat are a bit funky, but the rest is great and she is just gorgeous. The actual antique goes for like a thousand or into the thousands of dollars. She has a kidskin leather body with porcelain head and hands. Her head swivels and she even has tiny earrings, glass eyes and hair made of mohair.

Then...I found a big crystal painted vase with a design of flowers and leaves.. Sticker says Fifth Avenue crystal and Romania on it. Gorgeous!!!!! I got it for 7.00. I can imagine what the original price must have been. And...a dragon book for 1.00! It pays to get senior citizen discounts! In that store you get the discount of you are 55 and over. 30%

hoping syx gets out today..he was already yesterday to come home but some thing about the meds he has to take..so not sure what today is going to bring us...so want him home..

Not much happening my way. Work, work, and more work. I’m putting my 78 TransAm in the garage to get painted! WOOHOO!! I can’t wait to see it when it’s done. I am painting it back the original maroon with the black RamAir hood scoop and am going to put the bird on the hood.

LOL - yeah.
It's a corrugated plastic called "Fluted Board", looks like a shiny white version of corrugated cardboard (Like cardboard boxes are made from). They use it a lot in sign-making, for temporary signs like "house for sale" etc
It's very lightweight, but pretty strong too.

I didn't have any plans - just made it up as I went along!
The dome part at the top was a paper mache mould of the bottom half of a space hopper!!!
You just need to let your imagination run riot sometimes!! There's always a way to make it work!
