Exactly. The only time I can think of was a fired employee in the early 80s where they didn't take his badge away immediately, who took a gun on the flight his boss was on and shot the crew.

The scenario was more of a "terr" getting clearance to handle baggage and then "stowing away" intentionally or placing a device on board when the ramp is "unguarded".

If they dismissively say "I dunno where he went", thats sloppy security.

All employees handling loading of aircraft should be accounted for at all times to prevent such a scenario.

"Wait a minute, hold the plane… where's than new guy Abdul?"

And in over 40 years of the current security on the ramp it hasn't happened yet. In the last ten years something like this has happened three times counting this one.

Took enough posts, but at least you finally got what I was proposing anyway.

And in over 40 years of the current security on the ramp it hasn't happened yet.

Discounting 9/11 of course.

And this sloppiness at hand.

It didn't happen on 9/11 either. They were passengers, not ramp workers. Box cutters were allowed on the flight as were knives under 4 inches in length. The only thing that anyone confirmed being on any plane that shouldn't have been was pepper spray, which was very easy to miss, especially with a lot of other things in the bag.

Nowadays apparently, stowaways are allowable, too. And whatever they might be packing…

Remember stowaway wasn't "found"… on board. He wasn't even hiding, he was "overlooked", asleep no less.

And how many times has a stowaway been on a plane annually compared to the number of flights departing annually. But once again, you know better than everyone how the system is pathetic and doesn't work.

Hey, straighten up and fly right. And no, I never believe why they say about "incidents".
Security responding after the plane returned was a joke.

They're supposed to make sure no one is in the cargo hold before take off.

No they are not. Security is to make sure that there are no unauthorized people gaining access to the ramp area. This guy was authorized, security did it's job.

No it didnt. The proof of that is how they descended on the plane after the plane landed.

"Whoops, we "f___ed up", just doesn't quite do it.

You can bet there will be changes…

The reason that security "descended" on the plane after it landed was that they didn't know WHO was on board. By the time that they found out it was a moot point. Notice that there were no charges filed against the guy. Security DOES NOT check the inside of an aircraft cargo bay before the door is closed.
