4) That's a vague question... possibly yes. "benefit" is very subjective term in this sense.

Bonus- Depends on which side you are on! I think Iran swearing to wipe Israel and the West off the face of the Earth is a bit alarming... but do they have a point? More importantly, do they think they have a point?

I forgot the bonus question. The biggest threat to humanity isn't a country is the corporation controlled dynamic of the worlds economy that puts profits over people, obfuscates science and progress to push their agenda. We are getting cancer from our food not beings cured of our sicknesses but being prolonged for profits, environmental pollution from chemical and oil companies, monopolies on media, and the over reliances of technology like smartphones which pacify us to the point where humans can no longer have normal human emotions, see Japans birthrate.

1. No. Though wars are certainly intended to be profitable for some people. The thing is, cold wars are extremely profitable for some people too. I do think that a certain element of our government definitely wants a series of smallish "wars" to do some more failed nation building. It's funny because some of the same people who don't believe that we can engineer our own society believe that we can westernize the Middle East by force.

2. Somebody is always the biggest. This isn't a new thing. "Rule the globe" is sort of vague. Seems to me that what the neoliberal power structure is trying to do is maintain economic superiority by way of military superiority. Keep in mind that the imperialistic ambitions of the ruling class of most countries are held in check by a lack of means and opportunity, not ideology.

3. That's a complex question. I wouldn't say enemy so much as some combination of ignorant children, political pawns and a necessary evil.

4. Nope. Everyone wants to blame fundamentalist Islam for the state of the ME but I'd say it has a lot more to do with the imperialism and interference of a host of nations (UK, US, Russia, France, etc). How many countries in the ME were poofed into existence by agreements between these nations? How many regime changes have been epic failures?

Bonus question:

No. As disastrous as our military interventions have been recently, take the US out of the equation and the world would be facing the unchecked aggression of countries like Russia, China and North Korea.

The biggest threat to world peace is our in inability as a species to transcend our baser instincts for the common good.

I may not agree with everything you say, but I appreciate your realism while saying it.

In short, your concern is misplaced I think. You seem to think that our politicians are the ones who pull the strings. I don't. In my opinion, they don't control much of anything.

I doubt that they are pushing for it as it's really not in our best interest to be destroyed, but there might be higher level coordinators/countries banding together for that to happen and the U.S. doesn't have the power to stop them.

I see the U.S. succumbing to an N.W.O. mindset that yes, will have that central theme. I believe the lobbyists and corporations in power want their rule to be global. The Nanny State agenda knows no limit to what they want to control.

More and more, I see how much is kept from the common citizen of the U.S. Those of us non-wealthy citizens are less than nothing to our government, but at the same time, our government is ruled more by the corporations and the wealthy who have an interest in keeping us down to consumer/taxpayer/prisoner levels only.

I would like to see the extreme controls in place broken and I suppose a worldwide anarchy of sorts is the only way for that to happen. Granted, that comes with plenty of bad things too.

Bonus question: I can see why the U.S. would be viewed that way. We're not liked for many reasons. I despise what we've become and am regularly surprised at just how much we've changed for the worse and yet, the population remains sedated. That might be the worst of it actually. Where it used to be the people fighting for liberty is now a people fighting amongst each other over petty things and so easily manipulated. We've become a castrated population. Now, I don't think we're the ONLY population under that level of control by far, but we've long since lost our way and we cannot bring it back.

I have no delusions as to who actually pulls the strings.

I only allude to the surface so that some others can relate to what many of us discuss/debate/argue/know on a daily basis.

its all economics..all of it.
all the wars we see going on, and the rumors of war, are nothing more than economics.
the US is losing ground all over the world..the dollar is dying everywhere.
