This may be old news but I just was shown a video of Old Faithful blowing black smoke.

A good friend of mine has noted workers on webcam doing tests or something.

If natural this is historic !!

Road Trip time !

They chose a Pope in hell, maybe?

That was a while ago... maybe someone threw a tire into it?

Either way, it isn't soothing, is it?

Err... a tire wont fit number one... and steam wont burn rubber also.

Seriously though it may have happened in January so this is new geothermically speaking.

I wonder if a fissure has opened up after the last 4.x up there.

I go every year and I may have to leave early methinks.

First black smoke, and then...

I admire you're exploratory spirit, but when a volcano shows signs of activity, my first impulse isn't to get closer!

And yes, my first option about Popes in hell was more likely than a tire fire in Ol' Faithful... heh.

Old Faithful is a guyser, not a volcano.

It is indeed a geyser, not guyser, but I believe the point Baddogma successfully made was not to get closer to an erupting anything!

But what is the geyser situated in? A caldera of a huge super volcano...

you are technically correct, again, though.

edit: and yes, exactly Ultra... exactly!

We have established that Old Faithful is a geyser located in the caldera of a supervolcano.

I wonder what the USGS has to say about it? They have surely had time to address it.

I could see it just going boom at the end of the video lol. I wonder if the government would even tell us if it was about to explode.

I don't think this is the first time the smoke coming from Old Faithful has been black, I googled it and I got a result, from a page we are not allowed to mention here. That post was dated 4/1/2014 and they had a picture of it blowing black smoke.

Nah... they will just quietly slip into their bunkers.

That's what I was afraid of. Lots of politicians and the elite have property in South America... it makes you wonder.

Yes, I'm pretty sure this is not the first time this has happened, I recall something last year about this too, or it might have been 2013.

And the second video about people in protective gear... this is an active site of special scientific importance, they regularly conduct research there, it's part of the park and it's not a big suspicious secret. There are documents about this too, with a full statement about them conducting GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) to map the areas beneath ground level, in places of special scientific interest.

There is nothing strange or suspicious about any of this as far as I can see.

No, but old faithful sits directly on top of the largest volcano in the world.

I would suggest a faulty catalytic converter, but if its still under warranty then take it back to the dealer and make them fix it.
