Irrespective to policies of EU, or daydreams of any EU politician, Mrs Wagenknecht including, Empror Putin still would be heading Russia.

Before the crisis of Ukraine, Putin was just a provincial boss of a junkyard. But now, with minimal efforts, he has not only managed to secure the military bases he was negotiating to extend the lease for, but he has brought Russia back from sidelines of world politics, into headlines of every news media outlet. In Russia, nothing has changed, but still - everything has changed.

And everyone on this planet has bought Putin's bluff. Mrs Wagenknecht included.

What would be the correct reaction?

The correct reaction would be, to send 300,000 troops, 15,000 tanks, 5,000 jets and bombers, to Ukraine, and call that bluff.

No she isn't.
There are other political parties around that oppose the war, don't deny historical facts or follow an extreme political (right/left) path. You just have to look a little bit harder and actually read the political agendas of parties that you can vote for.

good find op.

Great speech. Sadly...this line of thought will never prevail in today's world. The bankers will never let it happen.

The Netherlands...

- Not beating around the bush, and by so very direct and vocal is in our nature

- We are being grown up with normally 1/3 local (Dutch) and 2/3 foreign news (so it`s pretty normal, in a lot of countries, to be automatically interested in foreign news when you grow up like that)

- We`re not brought up very nationalistic and by so criticize everything, including our own government with ease

- And I personally have always had interest in history, and by so, also history which is being made right now (the bigger scheme of things (so I`m interested in what goes on in the Ukraine (Europe isn`t that big, so it`s actual pretty close by, but I got even more interested after MH17 (a lot of Dutch people died with that)))

- And I think you should stick to your guns, so I`m not the kind of person who reacts too much in other threads because of that

So I hope this gives you some insight on me.

...and back to F1 practice !

Aaah...the dream.

I have always felt that nationalism is a drug for stupid masses. A drug that is so often misused by power brokers to make us dumb robots do unspeakable atrocities to each other.

I always liked you guys...the Dutch.

stay cool.

So enlighten me.. why do you want to advice Germans who to vote for when you say yourself that you are not thaaat interested in german communal politics?

Simply because I don`t agree with Western foreign policies as they have been.

The war hawks in US can`t do it without the support of Europe. Germany and France already have stopped the war more or less because of pressure of FN and domestic German pressure.

Not being brought up nationalistic...

...doesn`t result in not supporting your athletes, local food or other culture stuff...but it`s freeing to not having the urge to defend your government its polices when you think they suck.

Problem only is, we are too small to have any real influence on anything, we`re good for political purposes, but if we didn`t play the game we would be discarded just as easily.

And having politicians who like to act bigger than we are, they are very good in doing exactly what is expected of them.

When US wanted to bomb Syria in `14 after the supposed Assad chemical attacks, only president Hollande beat us, but we were before Cameron as second to announce wanting to bomb. They are now bombing Iraq (Syria) too, and are part of the NATO force which is being build in Eastern Europe...that`s why Dutch politicians are getting regularly high international jobs...because they are a bunch of wankers.

So you're voting for political parties just because they are "against the establishment" and regardless what their political agenda is?
yeah.. that's proper voting

I haven`t voted for a long time anymore, because it`s completely and utterly useless do that in The Netherlands.

If I would be German, I would vote for sure for parties who don`t feel the need to follow some American politicians their diluted view to become/stay World hegemon, because I still care about the World.

So the US is the only country who can do land grabs by toppling democratically elected governments and installing puppet regimes, and the US is the only country who may support a side in a conflict ?

"But mommy the other kids are doing it". Like another poster said the last US land grab was over a hundred years and doesn't excuse what Russia is doing in Ukraine.

Iraq anyone?

No problem here, the american hegemony AND the russian empire need to be opposed. At the same time you need to watch the extreme nationalist wings (rightist and leftist) so they don't destroy your own country and liberties with their agendas. It isn't easy to be a voter today

Most germans vote for stability nowadays and don't really care about the whole international spectrum of affairs as long as "we" aren't dragged into wars and conflicts we don't want. The wish for "Change" is something that is only slowly growing over years and years in Germany and it needs it's time to actually reach the Reichstag.

Die Linke has lost most of it's momentum and is bogged down in internal fights for power, mainly because the "old" part of the party (which roots itself in the philosophy of the SED, the main party of the now gone GDR) don't want to give up their positions, beliefs and agenda for a more younger and modern socialist thinking. Wagenknecht (while young and not from the GDR) belongs to those "old" parts which are rather dangerous on a national level.

At least she speaks things out, which brings it under peoples attention.

The left extremists are sometimes even more dangerous as the right extremists.

I`m not left or right orientated and neither in the middle, both sides have good things going for them but also a lot of crap.

My only political believe is that everyone in a governmental power position should make decisions with in mind what is good for the people...that`s what`s wrong in this World...making decisions for the wrong reasons are always leading to bad decisions, they should not make decisions for their own good or out of political convictions, but simply with in mind what is best for the people in general.

As long as SPD/CDU are supporting what goes on in the Ukraine, she`s still the better choice.

Wagenknecht is an unreformed Communist. You would vote for a Communist solely because they support Putin's revanchist imperialism? Who is the war monger now?
