I disagree. Being religious and being spiritual are as different as thinking and believing are different.

Religious people are have organized spirituality in their lives. Religion is a spiritual belief system, usually involving a community of people following the same spiritual practices.

The labels are going to kill this nation. No one can come together if everyone is divided. A divided nation cannot stand. That's my epiphany. I don't belong to any label. I don't belong in a twisted society. Let's talk about the equal ground we do have. I'm tired of the arguing without nothing being said or done.

Oh on the contrary.

I think Obama has changed much!

In fact, I'd say he fundamentally transformed America.

Only in right wing world..... Lol

The belief that the other "label" is actively trying to desroy the country is what's killing us. According to the right Obama, liberals and anyone not conservative doesn't have a different approach to societies problems that the GOP disagrees is the most efficient way to handle said problems. They are all evil Commie's who hate and want to destroy America!!!!

The dems don't attempt to play that card... It doesn't work on anyone not mildly disabled... Cause it's ridiculous...

Here's what's wrong with America. This is the fate of the nation and it's not going to very long in coming. I'll survive whatever outcome this fall takes. I opt out of the stupidity. I'll let everyone keep flapping their jaws without doing #.

Why oh why is everyone so damn committed to "saving" the Republican party no matter how terrible and evil it is?!

Vote for someone else- anyone else- libertarian, Green, Constitution, Ralph Nader, or anyone else who isn't a republican.

They couldn't do all the things you dislike if people like you didn't keep voting for them no matter what.

Truth and human rights are low on the totem pole for everyone in our government. Until they see what's going on and try to fix it, I will turn them off. If not, let's get this fall going. I'll get rich selling you food in barter.

Most conservatives truely believe that liberals lead by a Muslim socialist Obama hate and are actively trying to destroy America so Muslims can take over......oh and can't forget the vast global media conspiracy to discredit american conservative values... Oh and the global conspiracy in the science community of climate change, because all the scientists want to pass a carbon tax to help Obama push his Muslim agenda!!!!

How exactly do you expect them to just up and be logical tommarrow?

Pssst, in case you haven't been paying attention ... there is no Conservative Party. We have two parties - Republican and Democrat and they're really two sides of the same coin.

Psst, republicans are considered to be the conservative party just like democrats are considered the liberal party. And for your information, I'm not a democrat nor a republican. I'm registered as an independent. I really don't care for neither party. However, both parties have some issues I can agree with.

The Op was speaking about the republican party, so I was focused on that aspect. Both parties have morons who they should keep locked up and not be given a microphone to speak. The problem I see with the republican party is the extremism. I mentioned Sarah Palin because she's an absolute embarrassment to the Republican party. She's incoherent, and she talks gibberish. It's bad enough when there's extremism in a particular party, put to continue to put someone in the spotlight that continues to make a fool of herself and the party is only solidifying a poor image for the republican party. Al Sharpton's views are twisted and extreme, but at least you can make sense of what comes out of his mouth!

Selling your party's ideology is like selling a product. If you have any kind of common sense, you don't use a spokesperson that has a poor reputation in the eyes of many voters. You're only shooting yourself in the foot. The image the party projects is what wins or loses elections.

I think that the major flaw in this post is that you subscribe to the assumption that Hilary is a guarantee for the Democrats.

Remember, she was in 2008, too, and all that she's done since then is accumulate heavy baggage to bring with her to the debate tables and campaign trail.

It's way too early to predict anything, and honestly, I'm quite certain that Rand Paul could beat anyone the Dems throw at us--problem is, I don't think the GOP will allow him to be their candidate.

op.

ignore the part where he threatens to pistol whip both parties and listen to the rest of it. this is so epic. here's a black man having to tell people that they are brainwashed slaves. how poignant is this? the forefathers would be beaming with pride, as i'm sure they have gotten over their prejudices by now. he embodies the fighting spirit of america's revolutionaries. how ironic, how epic.

let him explain what is wrong with conservaties (and liberals)

p.s. i don't think our politicians need to be pistol whipped or hung, but it wouldn't hurt them if they went back to being just regular folks, like the rest of us. it might even be a relief for them. obama would still be a rock star, in or out of the white house.

Very good post. I have to agree with almost everything in it.

I do wish your other thread (about Liberals) had been this logical and factual, instead of stating the extreme and unreasonable positions of a very few of the farthest left-wing positions out there... This is what you said liberals believe:

originally posted by: STTesc
That America is bad or wrong. That religion is bad. The white male is bad. And that flooding the border with illegals is okay. That we shouldn't even have a border because "it's racist". That every cent of our tax dollars should go to public housing and food stamps. That hand outs are the norm, nobody should work because the Government takes care of you. That only "officials" should be armed because we're all too stupid to defend ourselves. That the nanny state needs to dictate to us how big our sodas are and what our kids eat at school. That common core is a good thing and our savior to the failing education system that was brought on by the same do gooders that now push this crap. That Detroit is the utopia.

See, if I were to make such an extreme post about conservatives, it would look like this:

"Conservatives think America has no faults. They're racist and hate women and LGBT people. That if you're not Christian or white, you need to go home. That if you're poor or homeless, it's your fault. That poor people should just get a job. That we should support the Koch brothers. That there should be NO regulations on guns, corporations or air and water quality. That the environment is FINE and Global warming is a hoax. That Christianity should be the national religion and prayer should be taught in schools. That we should have our military in every country, policing the world."

You get the idea... There's a LOT wrong with both extremes, but they're both the vocal minorities of the political spectrum.

To speak to your op here, I do think the GOP is going to split, if not into an actual third party, then certainly in their vote, and Hillary will be our next president, which is not something I want to see happen... but I can't say I'd be excited about Rand Paul either... It will be interesting.

Yup, and where you have an organized community, you have bureaucracy. Then you have dogma and politics. The social function of religion takes over, and you get an us vs them mentality. The mystical function of religion takes a back seat, because mysticism doesn't obey rules, and can't be chained by politics or borders.

But the mystical function is the mechanism of religious evolution. So without it, you get stagnation in the religion. Meanwhile, culture continues to evolve, and next thing you know it has left the organized religion behind. Then they get all conservative on you, trying to hold culture back. Then comes the upheaval of a reformation.
