On Resurrection
Spring has come
Long suffering earth
Awakens and stretches
Petals and wings
Resurrection comes
Through Life’s rebirth
And sings “Hallelujah!” from its broken core
When Life Returns and Faith is restored
That all of us in our suffering
Mirror the Story long told
Beaten by grief and pain of the world
Our own Passion Play
Our own abyss
Our own Tree and Crown
And Betrayal’s Kiss
Our own Death of all we knew
Of Love, of What Was,
Sold out for Something New
Our own black and shuttered Tomb
Our own Blood spilled and deepest Wound
Our own Cry of “Why have you abandoned me!”
In our shame, humiliation and brutal misery.
In that moment, or soon after
Comes the Circle of the Sun
And in Death to one set of dreams
The dawning of another comes
Our Personal Resurrection
On some quiet, unheralded morn
A bird call, a daffodil, a smile
Arise in a new life born
And we go on
Somehow renewed
In the gift of a hand to hold
Or a call of the muse
Or a hope rising like a secret told
Resurrection comes softly
And stunningly bold
’Tis the way of all things
Until we ARE again
In the Hallelujah refrain
Of Passion
Death
Resurrection
Blessed
Arise and Awake
Become Again and Rejuvenate
Overcome the shadow
Love’s never left you
And in Light the darkness abates
Today Is your Resurrection
Rejoice and Celebrate!
peace,
