There used to be a bar that grew longer as you posted more and got redder as you got more applause, until somewhere around 110 appluase, when the bar turned black and disappeared in the background. It started happening to a lot of active members in 2006, but before it became universal they switched to a different kind of meter, which I think was some kind of ancestor to the stats in our miniprofiles now. I'm starting to feel old even in internet years, and back in my day everyone was perfect online!
