Wow, it got quiet in here.

Well ... hmmm.

I leave you with a quote that seems pertinent at times. Find out who said it and when they said it, and I think it will make wading through this Pit thus far worthwhile and meaningful.

Something needs to. Best.

"The old parties are husks, with no real soul within either, divided on artificial lines, boss-ridden and privilege-controlled, each a jumble of incongruous elements, and neither daring to speak out wisely and fearlessly what should be said on the vital issues of the day."

And all those countries are deep in debt to support the system.

Not a good long lasting solution is it.

i dont know where you got your info from, but try these numbers.

en.wikipedia.org...

us gross debt (g) 106 net debt (n) 87; germany g 81 n 57; netherlands g 71 n 32; finland g 53 n -50 (not a typo, negative 50); denmark g 50 n 7; switzerland g 49 n 28; sweden g 38 n -17; norway g 34 n -165

all those countries are strongly democratic socialist. far less debt then us and higher standard of living. when i lived in germany i heard (could be false) that if you lost your job the gov figured out all your bills and gave you that amount, plus ten percent so you could have enough money to go find a job (for a limited time of course). all those countries have very strong unions so their pay is higher than ours as well. they also dont sign silly trade agreements so they have a strong manufacturing base. oh, they also have universal health care.

This will be my last post in this thread as it seems the mods have chosen a side. In the past 12 hours I've been warned twice for simply defending myself. After combing through 21 pages, it seem I and wookie are the only ones being warned. It doesn't matter that I've been personally attacked since the moment I created this thread. It doesn't matter that a moderator joined the conversation and told us all how to "control white people". No, see, I'm the bad guy because I don't subscribe to the social "evolution" that is American Liberalism.

I refuse to be apart of a topic that is to be dictated and censored by moderators based on their own personal opinion. I'm not complaining, simply explaining my future absence. Sides have been chosen and I'm done here. I'm not going to continue to be warned and possibly banned simply for defending myself.

The problem is you view your ideology as evolution. It's not simply what you agree with, it's demanding that everyone adapt said ideals because Liberalism = evolution.

It's not really just "I" that view it this way...it is the majority of society.

Currently, conservatives are having a hard time coming to accept that homosexuals are human beings too and should have every right that every other person has. In time, this conservative view will become more and more rare. But until then, the grown ups in the room have to pass laws to tell the remaining children "No, you can't do that".

In short, right now...conservatives are on the wrong side of history. Just like those that opposed civil rights, women's suffrage, or slavery. When the time came for the laws to pass on all those things, the majority of society had already realized what the right thing to do was...but there are always those that are too stuck in their ways and not intelligent enough to see and understand that society has evolved and they have not.

People that identify as homosexual make up less than 1% of the entire world's population. Compared to 1% of 7 billion, how many business' identify themselves as bakeries?

Solution: Find a new bakery.

They shouldn't have to find a new bakery...that is the entire point.

Pick out a trait of yours...any trait...lets say your religion, because that is a choice as you claim being gay is a choice.

Should you be denied service anywhere because of the choice of your religion?

I'm just saying there are more bakeries in the world than there are homosexuals. And it wouldn't really bother me, I'd go spend my money elsewhere.

It wouldn't bother you...easy to say when you have never been denied service due to your race, gender, sexual preference, or even religion.

What you basically just did there was dodge the question. You are so hell bent on wanting to allow discrimination against gays, that you are going to agree that you would be ok if you were discriminated against because you are Christian. Again...easy position to take in the hypothetical because you know it is never going to happen to you.

Simple question...what do you have against homosexuals?

your debt clock uses the same info that i listed above.

point is that their debt to gdp ratio is far lower than ours, and they get much more for it.

perhaps if we followed their example we would be better off.

i say take what works, and compared to "free market" democratic socialism seems to work better.

Personally, I think comparing debt/gdp is like comparing the size of raindrops to how rain fell.

It actually means nothing because national debt is real money borrowed.

The interest piles up and throws things out of whack.

It's inflationary and counter productive in the long run.

Debt is one main reason for government failures.

Only my opinion.

A former KGB agent warned us that the US was being subverted
from within, but the mainstream media is compromised so he
didn't get much coverage.

Many videos to choose from:

Yuri Bezmenov - KGB defector tried to warn US citizens

Key point is that they looked for radical elements
like bill ayers and supported them.

If you or I were to do what bill ayers did we would
be shot on sight.

Where does that "real money" that was "borrowed" come from, generallly, Xuenchen?

A simple question requesting a simple answer: what is the source of money?

What I saw happen here in this discussion was really quite simple.

First of all, the initial post is not simply a series of questions nor a fair-minded call to honestly debate anything ... it's a gut-busting bait fest designed to provide a venue to spew garbage about one side of the American political coin.

I'm sure that's why it was moved (moved instead of REMOVED which is telling) from wherever it started to the Mud Pit.

If there was any desire on the part of the site administration to simply CENSOR such a topic, it wouldn't exist.

If there was any desire on the part of the site administration to simply REMOVE any members, they would be gone.

The problem with the plans of the original post was that real liberal folk came in here and refused to be labelled as the anti-American, totalitarian, free-loading, race-baiting cretins that serve as the foil in so many pure propagandizing efforts from the American political right.

And given that this is the Mud Pit, we were able to strike back with a little of the invective that is normally directed at us in other places on the site. In my opinion, we gave as good as we got. We slung as much semantic fecal matter back as was slung at us.

And what an achievement that is, eh? What's the ultimate outcome of such activiity?

Everyone is covered in crap.

That's the reason why the owners, administrators, mods of ATS don't allow such ... stupidity ... to corrupt most of the forums here. ATS believes in productive, informative discussion and exchange of ideas and the reduction and discarding of ignorance. That's what it was at the beginning; that's what it is now.

I'm a passionate and opinionated guy. I get slapped with warnings on regular occasions, both in this thread (yep, I got warned more than once in the MUD PIT of all places) and others. I'm trying to learn how to express myself without empty rancor and baseless rhetoric, and truth to tell, ATS and the mods have helped me IMMENSELY in my own writing and expression.

Anyone who claims that the mods are mistreating them or acting unfairly are, in my opinion, not primarily here to promote the intentions and qualities of ATS that I mentioned above.

I don't like getting "warned" or having my posts blacked out either ... but I don't blame "the mods" when it happens.

I believe in taking responsibility for my own actions, and while that's bitter sometimes, it's just the way things are.

Beg pardon for the off-topic post ... just felt like this needed saying.

Bon appetit.

Oh well, you're refusal to answer tells me all I need to know.

the democratic socialists (read mob rule) are losing slowly but surely to totalitarians, and are even somehow, brainwashed for the most part, into believing it's still democratic socialism. it isn't. they're inching ever so slowly, to being snuffed out of existence and laying the ground rules, even arguing in favor of said rules, to let it happen. and this was all possible because their people have been bred, fed and raised on royal peonage.

the usa is nearly there in some depts, but just not in the same areas as the europeans. that's because they're busy having to contend with people who were weened off the royal tit, over 200 years ago.

somehow, i think the boogey men lurking in the backdrop of all this is the vatican and their jesuit order. it just makes sense on so many levels. i've read some pretty eyebrow raising details regarding the jesuits, such as the fact they run the national technology transfer center in the usa at a jesuit university and also run the hubble telescope program out of a hospital at john hopkins university. these guys have their fingers in everyone's pie. there's even some pretty convincing speculation that they ordered a hit on john fitzgerald kennedy. and when i say everyone's pie, i mean they are in both of our 2 main political parties.

they know by harassing, influencing and maligning american protestant churches, they can force them underground and even out of existence, as most mom and pop churches, just like mom and pop businesses, don't have 2000+ years of confiscated gold and riches in their vaults to survive the # storms that get thrown at them.

the rcc can survive losing tax free status. they can afford to be magnanimous. its a very deceptive organization. the catholic people themselves, are fine. it's the big kahunas at the top of their food chain, that have infiltrated pretty much every seat of power, including all the major protestant churches, muslim, buddhist, hindu, even jewish.

i dunno. it doesn't look good for the american people. it smells of vendetta and vatican run alphabet agencies
