It is true the Israelites left Egypt but the evidence from the excavation in the cave shows the Egyptians did not leave the Israelites and their descendants

3,000-year-old artifacts from Egypt rule of Canaan found in Negev cave
Artifacts were used by the tribe of Judah, the only tribe of Israel not to be exiled to Babylon in the late Bronze Age and the Iron Age.

A collection of artifacts with characteristics of the Egyptian culture, which were discovered in the excavation

Faience amulets depicting images of Egyptian gods

A scarab seal of the Egyptian pharaoh Thutmose III. A sphinx is crouching near the pharaoh's name

A ring that was discovered in the excavation which is inlaid with a seal depicting an Egyptian warrior holding a shield and sword

Alabaster bottles that were discovered in the cave

An oil lamp and a ceramic jar that date to the Iron Age, which were discovered in the cave

The names of kings appeared on some of the seals," Dr. Ben-Tor added. "Among other things, we can identify a sphinx lying opposite the name of the pharaoh Thutmose who reigned from about 1504–1450 BCE. Another scarab seal bears the name of Amenhotep who reigned from about 1386–1349 BCE. Still another scarab depicts Ptah, the principal god of the city of Memphis."

Wow! This is amazing to me , It add's more mystery to the biblical Israel & Egypt history .

So what do you think ATS ?

it is well known that the israelite's / hebrews left with things they owned and had in egypt, plus they took things from the egyptians.

Exodus 12:35 36 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
35 Now the sons of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, for they had requested from the Egyptians articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; 36 and the Lord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have their request. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.

it is also noted that some worshiped egyptian gods, rememeber the golden calf.

There could possibly be considerably more significance regarding the bull because Moloch was worshipped as a bull by the Canaanites. The Egyptians ruled over a huge expanse which covered well into Syria and further East so their worshipping rituals would have been witnessed and probably joined in with.

There had to be a crisis point when people who had followed the pantheons of gods were suddenly forced into worshipping only 1 god. This was forced by covenant onto the Hebrews and Egyptians, although the latter were more malleable in their beliefs and reverted back to their ancient beliefs after only a short period.

Whatever is regarded by the majority from the biblical accounts, has all been written to force the one god worship and either doesn't make sense, is absolutely dreadful behaviour one would be ashamed of, (if one reads through all the Old Testament) we are left with delving into other information still available to us to get nearer the truth. But it must have been a huge wrench to force paganism especially taking the bull to symbolise Hathor the Goddess of wine, partying and enjoyment from the lives of the ordinary people who attended her festivals with probable relish.

There are reports from the men commanding Egyptian outposts to the Pharaoh some I read years ago and this would apply to Palestine and we also know that there are the remnants of Egyptian temples left there. Trade in Sinai where the Egyptians mined turquoise go back to just before the supposed Exodus.

A couple of nights ago I sat through a talk given by a man on the mission of proving the desert religion (s) are right and he put forward his ideas that Monotheism has its base in Egyptian beliefs and culture. He touched on Egyptian Gods with the idea of dismissing their significance completely but the bull he told us God had problems with actually comes from Sumer and the cultures in that area long before the Egyptians worshipped Hathor.

A great find that confirms much of what is already known - but its lovely to see real 'things' from that era that have survived.

Perhaps egyptians and Israelites were one and the same but just had different religions like many countries today. Some historians from 1st century (Tacitus) say the Jews might have originated from Ethiopia (did Jews in 1st century have black skin!) . Similarly some believe the ancient Egyptians that built the pyramids also came from Ethiopia but were later overtaken by Europeans when Egyptian power declined (Cleopatra was of Macedonian Greek origin),
