I am replying to myself and apologizing to the OP. Sure, I could have edited by reply but someone may have read the original post.

I was rude and I apologize. The moment I hit reply I wish I hadn't.

The old sci-fi movie "SOYLENT GREEN" starring Charleton Heston. If you havent seen it, do so. It will give you your answer. (albeit an unpleasant one!)

You know last time I worked with the government on wormholes, I got shot at by some Egyptian looking dudes with a parasite problem :/ I'm not sure the whole Wormhole thing is going to work out. Perchance we need to look after the planet a bit more, and stop having huge families? I know a radical idea that would never work out, but well by my Gods, I feel it might work
Mind you my Gods might be some of those Egyptian looking dudes friends, so I could be wrong.

Yeah but in Ethiopia that Famine was due to a brutal Civil War as much as environmental issues. If Homo sapiens , could stop being doche bags to each other for a decade or two, we might sort a chunk of our problems out. You know spend that R&D budget on disease eradication (it worked with small pox, then the whole world blew up again after a period of stability), working out new power sources that are renewable (oh I don't know fusion power would be cool .... call me a big hippy) et etc etc

But no, we like to play the "who has the bigger wang" game with our neighbors (but don't look, you pervert), and steal resources.

I have seen the movie and the idea of dust taking over is not actually far fetched.
There were hard times in US 1930´s

It made farmers to change the way they were farming. Deforestation is most likely to be cause of similar catastrophe in future. Overpopulation leads to deforestation, material for buildings, heating and land for farming.

Even i live in the country which is among most forested in the world, i am sure when forests die out and dust takes over even we will see SHTF scenario in my country.

Good post, star and flag.

This has been one of the selling points the Eugenics crowd has tried to use
over and over for many decades.

It always comes back to we need to kill most of the ppl on the planet so
the "special" can survive.

I call them the Neo-Malthusian death cult.

On a positive note a brilliant man up in Wisconsin figured out how to
use Aquaponics to grow 1 million pounds of food in 1 year on 3 acres.

He uses his compost to heat the greenhouses in the winter and run the
entire operation on 1 pump.

On a land mass the size of west Virginia he could feed the ENTIRE planet.

1 million pounds of food on 3 acres year round

That is one of the other things the death cult beats everyone over the head
with is that food requires arable land, and it is simply not true and even
the Incas, Mayans, and Aztecs knew they could raise fish and plants in
symbiosis in Cenote with reed mats to hold the plants floating in the water.

Cenote - large water pools in Mexico

With hydroponics alone you can grow 10 times the food, and use 20 times less water.

Scale up to vertical hydroponics and it becomes even more amazing.

They even grow algae for biodiesel to the tune of 100, 000 gallons per acre
off agriwaste.

100,000 gal per acre per year biofuel algae

Almost all of our problems are due to artificial scarcity enforced to make a small group
of people insanely rich.

Increase in CO2 leads to higher growth of trees, and increased tree cover
where man is not clear cutting.

higher CO2 leads to higher tree growth

One of the founders of greenpeace speaks out that CO2 is what plants need, and
that the CO2 has been much higher in the ancient past.

Patrick Moore - CO2 points

CO2 used to be 10 times higher 450 million years ago ???

I think we need to worry about water before food....

Lets see how California does in about 5 years...

Yeah water is an issue around the world, I think atmospheric condensers
based off solar thermal and the Einstein fridge could make a lot of water
in humid areas.

Trying to do it with electricity is a bad idea, but solar thermal would work.

Off the grid design would be the best design.

Einstein fridge

Atmospheric Water Generation

This is observed at a dinner table as condensation on a cold drinking glass.

I think using old radiators and fridge cooling coils could allow a recycle use for
them to start the first round of this.

Some are using the old fridge coils for homemade solar water heaters.

I think we are a long way from that being sustainable source when we look at about 30 million that have a year left of water available. I live in Washington state for a reason...lots of water, and I can grow/raise all I need, though I do not do that yet. It is still easier to just buy what I need, but I have friends that can go completely off the grid tomorrow if need be, something that the 4 million in LA alone can not do.

Not a chance...For instance, there is a warehouse, yes, a warehouse in my area that grows produce indoors, and it takes only 5% of the water that normal produce takes to grow.

Yes, and more and more vertical farms are coming online, plus rooftop gardens, backyards, growbags, people are waking up!

I am a lifelong vegitarian, never had a piece of chicken or any other meat. I think the world will never run out of food as long as people are on it, because if worse comes to worse people can always eat each other lots of protien, supposedly people taste like bacon.

Well the reason they are squeezing the poor in LA is because they are
growing cash crops with 80% of the water, and alot of it is going overseas.

The farmers also get to buy the water 10 times cheaper then the sheeple.

Exporting water to china as hay...

10% of states water going to almonds ?

80% of California water use is Agriculture

They also don't bother to tell ppl Nestle and other Water thieves are pumping millions of gallons
and exporting some of it, and they buy the water at a reduced rate.

Nestle pumping 80 million gallons a year at lower water rate cost

They also don't bother to tell ppl that millions of gallons went to fracking wells.

Oil Companies dump billions of gallons of toxins in aquifers

Water use and waste water issues

It shouldn't run out of food, but i guess it's a possibility.

There should be no hunger.

However whilst there are so many wastefull and greedy people in the world, that is going to have to just stay a dream.

LOL if people get hungry enough perhaps some would eat thier own families parents and kids included, they would care less about any kinds of diseases.

As i understand it , you eat people you get Kuru . Also the way i look at it my country could easily feed Ethiopia , but if that were to happen live birth rates would rise , child mortality would fall . 15 years time they would be in the same situation . Dont flame me , if a square mile can support 1 person and 3 live there it must end badly . You can only try to outsmart mother nature but in the end she will win . Perhaps along with the food we should send condoms .

It is beyond me, how posters continue to take the one sarcastic part out of my statement. And then use it to launch an opinion on my statement. Doesn't anybody understand sarcasm?

From henceforth and forward everyone understand my mention of Ethiopia was both sarcastic and rhetorical!!

The main comment in my original post was that famine is one of the main plights of mankind since the beginning of time. It is virtually guaranteed to return. ( ugh bangs head on desk)

All the people saying not a chance. Tell that to children in Ethiopia, famine is one of the greatest killers throughout human history.

But wheat still rots out in the open in India, no warehouses for it all, so the grain sacks are stacked in the open, not even covered.
As the guy above typed, its transport that is the trouble, that and food trucks hijacked by 'freedom fighters' .

Total rubbish. All famine starts with crop failure there's numerous contributing factors. But it is not solely because of transport. Have you ever read a history book? ( I feel the need to point out that that was a rhetorical question)

Civilizations throughout history have fallen because of famine.

That's urban area propaganda.

Step outside of every major urban hub and marvel at the vastness of the world. Seriously.
