Some snips from article

Globally, renewables accounted for an estimated 9.1% of the world's electricity generation.

Achim Steiner, Unep executive director, observed: "Once again in 2014, renewables made up nearly half of the net power capacity added worldwide.

China was by fair the biggest investor, pumping a record US$83.3bn into the sector - up by more than a third on its 2013 financing.
The US was second, investing US$38.3bn. Japan was a close third with US$35.7bn.

Good to see China embracing renewable energy in such a big way and whatever your thoughts on 'global warming and CO2 taxes' surely we can all agree these renewable energy sources cause a lot less pollution.

China wouldn't do that unless it was economically viable.

We are on the way.

Just get passed WW3 and we are golden.

It could happen. Please let it happen.

Renewable's are the future, and it will only continue to grow. The most important thing we as a worldwide species can do is start cleaning up and protecting Earth, our only home at this point. Fossil Fuels should only be used for transportation at this point, the rest of everyday house hold items, should begin the process of becoming powered by clean energy. that would be a start, and build up from there, until eventually clean energy has become more refined to be able to power cars at a regular basis, with it being as easy as fossil fuels were once.
