In 2004, we experienced meteoric growth as the discussions of our community members began influencing news coverage, attracting attention from one of the largest information sites (SlashDot), inspiring involvement from NASA, and even a U.S. presidential candidate. Thanks, in part, to a massive number of discussion related to politics as the U.S. election approached, we surpassed one million posts and will close the year with close to 30,000 member registrations. Unlike our 2003 ATS Review, due to the volume of new threads, we'll provide a review of the top-five most replied and top-five most viewed threads authored in each month of 2004 first, then comment on the other important threads of 2004 in another post.

So here are the most popular threads of each month in 2004. They provide an interesting slice-in-time for the psyche of the board and our members.
